THE PROBLEM
JSM approvals have no reminders (JSDCLOUD-8369, open for years). The workarounds: Automation @-mentions without approval buttons, or manually removing and re-adding approvers.
WHAT APPROVAL NUDGE DOES, EVERY HOUR
- Reminds exactly the approvers who haven't answered ("Reminder 2 of 5")
- Optionally resends Jira's native approval email - Approve/Decline buttons included - via the documented remove/re-add mechanic, verified at every step with automatic rollback

WHAT IT NEVER DOES
Never modifies an approval once anyone has answered. Never swaps approvers or decides for anyone. Never sends data anywhere - zero egress. Runs on Atlassian.
Advanced edition ($1.50 per agent/month) adds absence cover: a configured stand-in becomes an extra approver when someone stays pending past your threshold, or their account is deactivated.

Two features work by editing the Approvers field: approval email re-delivery, and Advanced absence cover. On approvals whose approvers do not come from that field - group-based approval steps and team-managed projects - both correctly refuse to act, but the refusal was nearly silent.
This release explains it:
- The issue panel now says why approval email re-delivery is unavailable for that request, and confirms that reminder comments and escalation still work as normal.
- Advanced absence cover records a clear internal note, instead of reusing wording that implied someone had changed the field mid-flight.
- The Advanced settings description states which approvals the feature works with.
Behaviour is unchanged: nothing new is written to Jira and both safety guards are identical. No new permissions, zero egress as always.
