Key highlights of the appNot another approval engine — reminders, native approval-email resend and escalation for stuck JSM approvals

Give approvers the real Jira email

Approval Nudge uses Jira's documented remove-and-re-add method to resend its native email to people who haven't replied. Every step is verified, and any failed resend is rolled back automatically.

Decide what each project scans

Add one JQL condition per project and every scan uses it. The filter can only leave work out, never add more. The settings page and the Overview both show the filter currently in use.

Keep work moving when someone is away

If an approver is pending after your chosen threshold, or their account is deactivated, Approval Nudge adds your stand-in and leaves an audit comment. The original approver stays in place and can still respond.

THE PROBLEM
JSM has no approval reminders (JSDCLOUD-8369). The alternatives are Automation @-mentions without approval buttons or manual remove-and-re-add work.

EVERY HOUR

  • Reminds only pending approvers ("Reminder 2 of 5")
  • Can resend Jira's native approval email with Approve/Decline buttons. Every resend is verified and rolls back automatically if it fails
  • Escalates to contacts you choose after N days
  • Flags approvers who may not receive email
  • Records an audit trail in each issue panel

SAFE BY DESIGN
Once anyone answers, Approval Nudge never changes the approval, replaces an approver, or decides for them. Your data never leaves Atlassian: zero egress, Runs on Atlassian.

ADVANCED EDITION
A configured stand-in joins as an extra approver when someone remains pending beyond your threshold or is deactivated. Add one JQL condition per project to narrow scans. Settings and Overview always show it.

Summary
A cleaner, faster-to-read interface across settings and the Approvals Overview.
Details
Settings are now organised into three tabs - Reminders, Resend & escalation, and Advanced - so you can find one setting without scrolling a wall of fields. The form keeps a readable width on large screens. The Overview tables are easier to scan: row states show as coloured pills and the only button is the one you can act on; the Nudging column explains itself when a project has the app switched off; dates read the same way everywhere (YYYY-MM-DD); request keys in the approvals ledger link straight into Jira. Choosing people is simpler too: the pickers open with your site's people listed - including portal customers - and narrow as you type. Nothing about scanning, reminders, escalation or approvals behaviour has changed.
