So helpful for confirming permissions issues for users among other things. Crucial for administrators! My only suggestion would be to make it a little more obvious when an administrator is in another person's user. It is easy, in the middle of busy days, to forget to SU exit.

If i cklick on documentation in the marketplace then i get "Not permitted" :(

Hi Michael. All SU addons have anonymously accessible documentation pages - I just validated. I think the problem is your account has been inactivated, which is the root cause. Probably Atlassian should allow you to be 'anonymous' in this case. I'll log a support request about that. I've enabled you now so you should be able to access the docs. Perhaps next time, just reach out to support@thepluginpeople.com, we're happy to help.

This is a great plugin. A must have if you are a confluence admin.

I am sure that this plugin would have much more reviews and customers if it would be available to buy throw Atlassian and it would have a more reasonable price for Enterprise use (more like ½ or even less of what it costs now). Considering that this is a plugin used only by administrators and that only makes their life a little bit easier it is quite hard to get an expense approval for it. There are other much more useful plugins that are considerably less expensive than this, like graphviz one for example. I didn't even bothered to make an purchase request because I already know that it would not be approved.

Marketplace payment integration is likely this year. When you cost your time tracing permission issues and such, Id expect to you to recoup your license cost easily, regardless of your tier. Comparing SU to Graphviz is like comparing a spanner to a pickle ;) Anyway, as of ~May 2014, SU is also dual licensed, so you can buy it via Marketplace, or, on maintenance anniversary, convert to marketplace via discount codes (avail from sales@thepluginpeople.com)

A really bad customer experience: I discovered that my account (ssbarnea) was disabled on the vendor issue tracker. Also it seems that the plugin give this error: You don't have permission to SU to the target user [xxx] (cannot SU to a sysadmin, non sysadmins cannot su to admins) and a google search gives you no hints. Update: the concept of disabling accounts after x amount of time is clearly not smart. I do not remember of getting this on any other system. If you cannot afford the Atlassian's bill, you can always use another issue tracker like GitHub or GitLab, where you do not have to disable accounts to lower the bill. As a potential user I am disappointed because about the overall experience, even the message does not give a hint on what to do (clearly you do not want to remove admin rights on the target user). You should document it at least and specify what we are supposed to change in order to perform the SU. Interestingly that the first time when I hear the term sysadmin term related to Confluence. I know it does exist in JIRA but as far as I know there is no such thing in Confluence. Anyway, I liked re quick reply, upgrading the rating :)

I don't think 1* was fair. The error message is pretty clear!
- Users who had not logged in for more than a year got disabled en-masse. This is because JIRACloud for us has a 2K user limit, we're growing and need more headroom, disabling users who haven't logged in for a year seemed a fair compromise, they can of course be re-enabled.
- By default, SU wont allow you to take on the identify of superior accounts. If you have the current version of SU you could configure this.
- You should know (by now ;)) that you can mail support@thepluginpeople.com anytime, there is also the Questions site on the wiki, c'mon, we're not hiding! You can't expect user accounts to remain active for life if you don't use them!
- The toolbar within SU actually links to the questions site also!
If you mail us, we will answer, currently I'm unable to offer any support as you offer no version information.
Update: CSU could do with a little refresh/doco update, so thanks for bringing that to our attention, will do. Regarding Confluence System Administrators, I do refer to the single source of truth ;)
