Key highlights of the appZip the attachments of an issue, a JQL search or a whole project, foldered by issue key, then find the duplicates

One zip for a whole search
Jira's own Download all stops at one issue. Satchel zips a JQL result or a whole project, foldered by issue key, in archives of up to 1 GB and 5,000 files, after filtering by name, type or size.
See what is eating your storage
Duplicate groups with reclaimable bytes, occupancy by uploader, file type and age, the biggest files, and a CSV inventory. Today Jira reports storage for the whole site, not per project.
Nothing leaves Atlassian
The zip is built in your browser from your own session. No external server, no egress permission in the manifest, no copy of your files anywhere.

The problem
Jira Cloud zips one issue's attachments, not a search or a project: collecting a quarter's files means opening every issue in turn. Open since 2018: JRACLOUD-68871, 113 votes.
What Satchel does
Zip anything. One issue from its panel; a JQL result or a whole project from the project page, foldered by issue key, up to 1 GB and 5,000 files per archive. Any file also downloads without opening the preview.
Then govern it. Duplicate groups with the bytes each would reclaim. Storage by uploader, file type and age. The biggest files. A CSV inventory.
Delete carefully. Jira confirms each file, the dialog lists them all, you type DELETE, every file is recorded. It cannot be undone. Off by default; admins only unless widened.
Nothing leaves Atlassian. Archives are built in your browser from your own Jira session. No external server, no egress permission.
Duplicates match on filename and exact size; Jira exposes no content hash, and Satchel says so.

Version information
Version 2.3.0•for Jira Cloud
- Release date
- Sep 28th 2026
- Summary
- Deletion previews checked with Jira; inventories show only what you can see
- Details
Found by using Satchel the way a buyer does.
- Inventories show only attachments on issues you can see in Jira, and a project page reads only its own project's inventory.
- Deleting: the preview is checked with Jira and lists every file it will remove. Only those files, in this project, can be deleted, by whoever previewed them. The dialog says up front when deletion is off or limited to Jira admins.
- The audit trail records each file before it is deleted and keeps records for 400 days. It is for project and Jira administrators; the admin page shows every settings change and, from now on, every deletion.
- Cancelling an inventory takes effect at once. A new one can start once the last has finished, at most every ten minutes. Whoever ran one can delete it.
- A file whose deletion failed stays in the list with the reason. Zip and delete act on exactly the selected files. A file over 512 MB is named in the archive, not dropped silently.
- The issue panel is now called Satchel.
