Tempo Timesheets is really a great way to solve daily time logging issues. Only question i had for team. Currently, i can use a gadget that show daily time logged for every project for a user. But can there be any gadget that shows daily time logged for a specific project.

    Tempo for JIRA

    Hi Rohit,

Thank you for taking the time to write us a feedback and we are very glad that you find our product useful.

As for your question, we do not have a gadget that is meant to solve exactly your use case but after some review I can offer you a potential, partial work around.

The Tempo Worklog Distribution gadget allows you to filter by a Jira filter, so if you create a filter for the project in question you can use that. You can then group by various criteria such as projects, issues and users and display them in either a Pie chart or a Column chart. It will unfortunately not show you the hours for each day rather the current week or various periods back up till 90 days.

If you have the time and inclination you could send us a detailed description of your use case to our Support team, the Tempo Product team will then review it to see how to proceed.

    Best regards,

A great looking piece of software, i can definitely see it becoming something bigger in the future. Sadly right now its targeted towards only JIRA issues meaning you cannot track things such as meetings without doing a hack.

    Hi Goran,

Thanks so much for your feedback and we’re glad you feel our software is on the right track. Regarding the issue of tracking meetings, we have a Google calendar integration that allows you to seamlessly turn meetings into time logs. You can find more information here: https://tempo-io.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/THC/pages/359825498/Connecting+your+Google+Calendar+to+the+My+Work+Calendar We are also currently working on developing a similar offering for Office 365.

If there are other features that you would like to see us consider, please feel free to contact us via our Support portal.

Tempo is Perpetually Unfinished 1. You can find some way to keep time with this extension, but you will not like it. Something is always off. This application has been around for years, but it is such a mess, with key features still missing. There is clearly no strong UX guidance behind this application. 2. Tracking billable vs non-billable time is critical, but this application does it in such a round-about way. 3. After all these years, there is no way to have time cards approved on a project basis. Most companies (except really small ones) will have shared resources across different projects. Each project needs to be approved by a different manager. This is key to using time cards. 4. Reporting has just been updated today, but is still lacking. There needs to be access to quick reports, with buttons and input fields. Still, this is the part that probably works best in this entire application. 5. UI is odd. Guessing this is partly a JIRA framework issue, but there's got to be a way to improve it. I wish we could get off this application, but as bad as Tempo is, it's the best option for Jira cloud. Jira ties us to half-hearted applications in the market place.

    Hello Arthur,

Thank you very much for your review. One could argue that a software is never finished, but to address your concerns we would very much like to know more about what you feel is unfinished and/or missing.

You mention that key features are still missing, can you further elaborate on what those features are? We are currently in the process of improving various aspects of our products, i.e. approval workflows and general time tracking. Feedback and use cases from our customers are always welcome, very much appreciated and are a great aid in our product development. Would you please consider contacting our Support team and explain the points you made in your review? Please mention either my name, Kristín, or Hildur Nanna's and we can discuss your points further.

For us Tempo timesheet is plugin, which use all company. It has great functionality, but support decline our feature requests, without discussing, simply answering that it's not in their roadmap. The same story is about bugs. So if you need something new - please wait for a few years. If you need a critical bug fix - please update your jira instance. It's not customer oriented approach. The last negative case was about critical bug for us, which was created here https://tempo-io.atlassian.net/servicedesk/customer/portal/6/TCS-12901. Tempo declined support jira 7 version even atlassian(and all other plugin's vendors) continue support due to end of life policy https://confluence.atlassian.com/support/atlassian-support-end-of-life-policy-201851003.html. It's very strange for me, that's why i can't recommend this plugin for you.

Was great up until 9.0. We are missing account approvals, why was this removed?

    Tempo for JIRA

    Hi Andres,

Thank you for being in touch and providing feedback. We removed the account approvals feature from version 9.0 in order to make the user interface more coherent and focused on time tracking:

Since this release, we have heard from several customers that this is a feature that they would like to see restored. We have taken that into consideration and are now working to add it in again. There is currently no timeframe for its release, but we will announce it and include it in the release notes as soon as it is live. You can find the latest information here: https://tempo-io.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/SERVERNEWS/overview

Please feel free to be in touch with any further questions.

For such a well-established and expensive app it is quite lacking in a few areas. Support turnaround is at best 2 days, which compared to most vendors in the marketplace is quite poor (average I would say is 1 day). You want better? That's MORE money for an enhanced support contract. And it lacks some features that you would really expect of an app at this price point - for example whilst you can add your own custom fields but they are NEVER displayed in the app/Jira the data is only visible when you do an export to Excel. Another thing that seems quite obvious but not supported is the ability to hide certain fields you don't need - like the FOUR fields associated with the Remaining Estimate value, which if you don't need really clutters up the screen. And yet another missing feature is the ability to auto-round time entries to the nearest 15 minutes (for example). So far the response to questions about this is that it isn't in line with their roadmap? Seems like the marketplace is screaming for a decent competitor at a sensible price who is more motivated to develop features that customers need.

Till now it has been a great experience, but I find one thing annoying that there are features which are present for Cloud version but not for the Server version and those are really good ones, like Connecting your Google Calendar to the My Work Calendar, This is a really good feature to have, but it is available for cloud one. Is there any plans to include this into the Server one also?

    Tempo for JIRA

    Hi Vatsal Dhar,

Thank you for taking the time to write us a review. Cloud features such as the Google Calendar integration are with out a doubt something that we are considering to add to our Server Products.

I currently do not have any date for such work. but feedback such as yours are invaluable to the process. Please do let us know if there are any other features you think you would use if they were added to either Tempo Timesheets or Planner for Server.

Timesheets filled our gap between logging time, analyzing and customer invoicing Tempo in the first place extended our usage of time tracking and leveraged our possibilities to invoicing our customers. With the worklogs and price tables we made the first steps and had calculations for our projects based on time & material. Different roles for the users made it easy to use price rates for experience levels. Juniors, intermediates, seniors, project-leads could each be charged for with an own price rate and we had perfect WebGui and Excel aggregations for further usage. With the reporting capabilities, Report Generator or Excel Exports we are able to have more detailed views on our products and the time we put into maintenance and support. You can discover all products which have huge workloads on support and compare to your recurrings. If you work with Accounts in Tempo, then it’s really easy to get objective reasons to end or prolong the lifetime of your product(s). On working level it’s a great feature to have the possibility for all your team members to see, if and when other colleagues will be out of office. We simply started by creating an internal issue called „Out of Office“ and everybody who applied for holidays had also to create a planning entry on this issue for his period of absence. This made it really great and we were able to throw away our calendar-whiteboards. There are always things to do better, for example the Tempo App which is not as intuitive as I would prefer and has some restrictions in having to fill out a description for each worklog while you don’t have to in the webgui. Overall this tool saves as time and helps us to keep the overview over budgets, products. Simply said, everything that has to do with manpower can be tracked and reviewed very good with Tempo Timesheets and -Planner.

    Pricing FAQ

How does cloud app pricing work?

Cloud apps are sold as a monthly or annual subscription. You are eligible for support and automatic version updates as long as your subscription is active.

When your subscription renews each month, you are automatically billed for apps based on the number of users in your instance.

If app pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

How do I determine my cloud pricing?

Apps are billed based on the number of users in your Atlassian product. Jira Cloud apps are priced based on the maximum users of the Jira products on your instance. For example, if you have Jira Software (50 users) and Jira Service Desk (10 agents) on the same instance, you pay the 50-user price for apps.Note: While this app has features specific to Jira Service Desk, the app is technically available across the whole Jira instance. Therefore the above guidelines for licensing across maximum users still apply.

The pricing structure for cloud apps is as follows:

    • Monthly subscriptions with up to 10 Atlassian product users are billed at a flat rate price.
    • Monthly subscriptions with more than 10 users are billed per user, starting at the first user.
    • Monthly subscriptions with more than 100 users are billed per user. The table above provides example pricing at various user levels.

If you've opted for annual billing for your Atlassian product, apps are also billed annually at a discount (12 months for the price of 10).

Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses for cloud apps?

Academic, community and open source licenses are not available for cloud apps.

Can I extend my free trial?

For cloud apps, you cannot extend your free evaluation period. All cloud apps are immediately subscribed by a user, and we provide a free evaluation period. This is a minimum of 30 days and ends on the second billing cycle after you first subscribe to the app.

    Pricing FAQ

How does server app pricing work?

Server products and apps are hosted on your servers. This app is sold as a perpetual license, and the purchase price includes 12 months of maintenance (support and version updates).

You can renew maintenance after 12 months at 50% of the current purchase price. You can upgrade the tier of your Atlassian product and app licenses at any time. Upgrade prices are calculated based on Atlassian's formula (view example).

If app pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

How do I determine my server pricing?

Apps are billed based on the number of users in your Atlassian product. For Jira 7.0 or later, the app tier should match the maximum tier of the licensed Jira products on your instance. For example, if you're running Jira Software (500 users) and Jira Service Desk (25 agents) on the same instance, you should purchase the 500-user tier for apps. For versions of Jira prior to 7.0, the app tier should match the licensed user tier for Jira. Even if fewer users want to use the app than your Jira license, the two licenses should match exactly. Note: While this app has features specific to Jira Service Desk, the app is technically available across the whole Jira instance. Therefore the above guidelines for the license tier still apply.

Can I install this app in a Data Center product?

Yes, this app has a Data Center approved version. If you're using a Data Center product, you should install the Data Center version of the app.

What type of license do I need if I'm using this app in a Data Center product?

Because this app has a Data Center approved version, you should purchase a Data Center license for the app.

If you already own a server license for this app, you can continue using the server license in your Data Center product for a limited period of time.

Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses for server apps?

For server apps, academic licenses are available at a 50% discount if you have an academic license for your Atlassian product.

Community and open-source licenses are available for server apps. Learn more about community and open source licenses.

Can I extend my free trial?

For server apps, you can extend your app trial up to 5 times - in other words, for up to six months. Extend your trial by generating a new evaluation license key from Atlassian Marketplace. Click Try it free and you'll be directed to generate a new license. Paste this license key into the app listing in UPM from your Atlassian product, and you're all set.

How can I buy apps for my legacy Jira Server or Confluence Server license?

If you own a legacy Jira Server Unlimited (100+ users) or Confluence Server Unlimited (2000+ users) license purchased in 2012 or earlier, legacy app pricing is no longer available. You have two options for app purchasing:

    • Purchase the app at the non-legacy Unlimited (10000+ users) tier.
    • Renew your Jira or Confluence license at a non-legacy tier, then purchase the app at the same tier.
