The development team has just resolved an issue related to Atlassian recent API changes. New version 2.3.0 solves this problem. Congratulations! Best Team!

This plugin is not working with Firefox, if you have several Macros on one site, the vendor is unwilling to fix this problem. Sometimes its not possible to decrypt macros, we just get the message "Failed to decrypt secret.".

Hi Andreas,
We’re more than happy to dig into this issue, but so far, we haven’t been able to replicate it on our end. Could you help us by checking a few things? Are you using a VPN or any security software that might be interfering? Also, what version of Firefox are you running? If you can grab some console logs and a HAR file while the issue happens, that would be super helpful.
Drop us a message at our support portal with these details, and we’ll get right on it!
Kind Regards

Unfortunately we have far too many issues with this application. It works for around a month, then the secrets become impossible to edit or save. This has happened quite regularly for over a year now and every time it seems there's something wrong with the app itself. Support are good and responsive but this is a cloud app for a cloud-based platform. It should just work and a lot of the time it simply doesn't. It feels like we're back on-premises manually updating software sometimes. Another huge issue is that there are very limited administrator controls. For example, users are able to create secrets themselves (which is fine), however there's no way to automatically add in an administrator group as an owner by default. This means that if a user creates a load of secrets then leaves the organisation, you can't access these to hand over to another user or edit them whatsoever. This has led to us having to re-activate accounts multiple times and we even completely lost some secrets because the user's account was deleted and they hadn't added anyone else in the access group before they left. These things should not be left to just users to control. It's a nightmare. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this whatsoever.

Hi Richard,
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’ve noticed that issues with the Security and Encryption macros typically arise in certain situations, most commonly:
The page uses the old editor, which is no longer compatible with the Security & Encryption app.
Existing macros have not been updated to the new Secret macro following the October 2023 update. For more details, please visit: What is a legacy secret?
To ensure the Secret macro functions correctly and allows the addition of new macros to your pages, we suggest the following steps:
Convert pages from the old editor to the new editor. The official Atlassian documentation guides this process: Convert pages to the new editor.
Update any legacy Secret macros in bulk, as detailed in our documentation: How to bulk update legacy secrets.
Best,

Negative reviews are being deleted here. Better use a proper password manager than this.
