Really like the macro, but if we want to automate creating them, it needs better template support. It would be great if we can put in variables in the secret, like $password, and so when people create a "password" object, they can pre-fill the secure macro with variables of choosing. Otherwise, it becomes tedious and not worthwhile to input hundreds of them by creating a new macro... or teaching people how to create the macro themselves.

This is interesting. Would you mind sending me an email at azwandi@servicerocket.com? Let's discuss.

Hello. Are you looking to allow (future release) editing of the content without having to edit the page directly? Also allowing the macro owner to pass ownership to another user would also be helpful.

We thought editing the page provides useful capabilities for Confluence users such as notifications for watchers, version history, etc. If you have other thoughts, send me an email at azwandi@servicerocket.com - would love to talk! Also, Confluence system admins can recover any macros, in case you need to.

Looks like being able to set the visible timeout has been removed, and the link feature does not open the link in a new window so it takes over your confluence window and you no longer have the password to login to the site. Makes the link feature unusable IMO.

Looks like great adea which I am going to have a look but ... In confluence group "confluence-adminsitators" is hardcoded root and can particularly view any page even it is restricted... This will mean that Admins will be able to navigate to that page, edit it and reveal that information even he is not allowed to see that. How about that?

Hello Areg, by-design of Confluence, the members of confluence-administrators group (or users with Confluence Administrator or System Administrator permission) would be able to login as any user. Are you looking for a way to overcome this? I'd love to hear it - contact me at azwandi@servicerocket.com.

Greate plugin, exactly what we needed. Haven't tested it thoroughly yet, but we like it very much so far.

This addon seems interesting and simple of usage but the requirement to enter the password is NOT our definition of secure. We use SSO to identify into confluence, so: * no users have a confluence password * confluence does not have at any moment the user password Unfortunately this means that plugin can't be use in this configuration.

Hi Sébastien, great timing that we're exploring a solution for this. Care to drop me an email at azwandi@servicerocket.com? Cheers.

This app solved a huge headache with secure corporate password management without using extra application/interface and credentials. What we are looking for is having ability to add special characters like {TAB} or {ENTER}, so when the combination is copied to the clipboard, it can be pasted into the form and fill all the fields (e.g. both username and password) with single Ctrl-V. So far the best confluence solution I could find. All the really important things are well thought out: * Solid encryption algorithm * Easy to integrate while creating a new page * Ability to restrict certain data to users and/or groups is implemented * Entering the user's password ist required before displaying, might feel annoying for some people but I think it's important to prevent accidental disclosure * Nice, time restricted display when viewing a page We implemented this on all our Spaces and now have a much easier life to stay compliant. Some Ideas for improvement: * Have a global list of all encrypted objects, e.g. to get an overview of all stored secrets on a space * Have a defined way to store SSH Keys and other blobs as attachments rather than have to paste their content as text * Have a fixed font available in the encrypted content editor (pasted SSL keys etc. would look more natural to the devops guys)

There is a cool way of doing this if you use Reporting and Scaffolding app by ServiceRocket. You can find out more here .

    Pricing FAQ

How does server app pricing work?

Server products and apps are hosted on your servers. This app is sold as a perpetual license, and the purchase price includes 12 months of maintenance (support and version updates).

You can renew maintenance after 12 months at 50% of the current purchase price. You can upgrade the tier of your Atlassian product and app licenses at any time. Upgrade prices are calculated based on Atlassian's formula (view example).

If app pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

How do I determine my server pricing?

Apps are billed based on the number of users in your Atlassian product. The app tier should match the licensed user tier of the Atlassian product. For example, if you have a Confluence license for 500 users, you should purchase the 500-user tier for apps. Even if fewer users want to use the app than your Atlassian product license, the two licenses should match exactly.

Can I install this app in a Data Center product?

This app does not have a a Data Center approved version. Only apps meeting a set of performance requirements for large, clustered environments are approved for Data Center.

However, while server apps are built for single-server deployments, many customers successfully install them in Data Center products. If you're using a Data Center product, Atlassian recommends you contact the vendor to determine compatibility at scale.

Learn more about Data Center approved apps

What type of license do I need if I'm using this app in a Data Center product?

Because this app does not have a Data Center approved version, you should purchase a Server license if you decide to install this app in a Data Center product.

Learn more about Data Center licensing

Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses for server apps?

For server apps, academic licenses are available at a 50% discount if you have an academic license for your Atlassian product.

Community and open-source licenses are available for server apps. Learn more about community and open source licenses.

Can I extend my free trial?

For server apps, you can extend your app trial up to 5 times - in other words, for up to six months. Extend your trial by generating a new evaluation license key from Atlassian Marketplace. Click Try it free and you'll be directed to generate a new license. Paste this license key into the app listing in UPM from your Atlassian product, and you're all set.

How can I buy apps for my legacy Jira Server or Confluence Server license?

If you own a legacy Jira Server Unlimited (100+ users) or Confluence Server Unlimited (2000+ users) license purchased in 2012 or earlier, legacy app pricing is no longer available. You have two options for app purchasing:

    • Purchase the app at the non-legacy Unlimited (10000+ users) tier.
    • Renew your Jira or Confluence license at a non-legacy tier, then purchase the app at the same tier.
