    More details

Comala Metadata makes it easy to reference snippets of page data on different pages. The Metadata Plugin can generate summary tables automatically to contain as many columns of metadata per page as you need. In fact, you can show the same list on multiple pages with more or less detail according to your needs.

Use metadate to create a number of helpful reports, like:

    • The metadata-table macro produces tabular reports of metadata from matching pages in a two dimensional matrix format.
    • The metadata-report macro shows metadata from matching pages in a tabular report.

This macro can be used to select:

      • a selection of multiple metadata values from a single page.
      • a selection of multiple metadata values from a group of pages in the same space or other named space.

It can also be configured to calculate a sum of all the retrieved values for an individual metadata value name.

I'm glad I found this. It enabled some new possibilities in Confluence. I'm using the page and space metadata macros, along with some user macros and templates. It's made it very easy to quickly create common pages that pull attributes from a parent page or the space. I wrapped the JIRA issues macro in some user macros and how I have some standard reports that auto-configure when dropped on a page based on metadata. A nice enhancement to the metadata query would be if it had the option to iterate up parent pages until it found a parent with the desired metadata. It wasn't too hard to write a user macro to do this, but it would be a nice feature. I did find a bug with space metadata, which I reported. Hopefully it gets fixed soon. I do have the metadata macro on a page template. When creating pages from that template, I've been experiencing some errors. I'm still investigating that with Atlassian support, so I'm not yet sure if it's related to the metadata macro being used on a template or not. In spite of a few problems, this is still a very good and useful tool. (Forgive me if this appears multiple times...I was reviewing from within Confluence admin and it didn't appear to let me do the review from there.)

Hi, Just wanted to know if Metatdata Plugin still has Randombits(RB) libraries dependencies in Confluence version 5.10.8/6.0.1. Hi Eze,

The Service Rocket reporting (and hence Randombits) library compatibility was updated to Reporting 6.0 in the 3.5 release of the Metadata plugin. So you should be fine to upgrade Confluence. Any other questions please contact Comalatech support:

This plugin looks like exactly what I need - I'm figuring out how to use it, however there is one issue I have found. How do I delete metadata? for example, I added metadata using {metadata} - but even after I delete it, the deleted metadata still shows up in {metadata values} - how can I delete the old metadata?

    Hi Damien,

If you delete the {metadata} macro, and you add a {metadata values}, you should see a message like 'No metadata is attached to page "@self"'. Can you create a ticket in our support system so we can follow up this issue? https://comalatech.zendesk.com/.

    Pricing FAQ

How does server app pricing work?

Server products and apps are hosted on your servers. This app is sold as a perpetual license, and the purchase price includes 12 months of maintenance (support and version updates).

You can renew maintenance after 12 months at 50% of the current purchase price. You can upgrade the tier of your Atlassian product and app licenses at any time. Upgrade prices are calculated based on Atlassian's formula (view example).

If app pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

How do I determine my server pricing?

Apps are billed based on the number of users in your Atlassian product. The app tier should match the licensed user tier of the Atlassian product. For example, if you have a Confluence license for 500 users, you should purchase the 500-user tier for apps. Even if fewer users want to use the app than your Atlassian product license, the two licenses should match exactly.

Can I install this app in a Data Center product?

Yes, this app has a Data Center approved version. If you're using a Data Center product, you should install the Data Center version of the app.

Learn more about Data Center approved apps

What type of license do I need if I'm using this app in a Data Center product?

Because this app has a Data Center approved version, you should purchase a Data Center license for the app.

If you already own a server license for this app, you can continue using the server license in your Data Center product for a limited period of time.

Learn more about Data Center licensing

Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses for server apps?

For server apps, academic licenses are available at a 50% discount if you have an academic license for your Atlassian product.

Community and open-source licenses are available for server apps. Learn more about community and open source licenses.

Can I extend my free trial?

For server apps, you can extend your app trial up to 5 times - in other words, for up to six months. Extend your trial by generating a new evaluation license key from Atlassian Marketplace. Click Try it free and you'll be directed to generate a new license. Paste this license key into the app listing in UPM from your Atlassian product, and you're all set.

How can I buy apps for my legacy Jira Server or Confluence Server license?

If you own a legacy Jira Server Unlimited (100+ users) or Confluence Server Unlimited (2000+ users) license purchased in 2012 or earlier, legacy app pricing is no longer available. You have two options for app purchasing:

    • Purchase the app at the non-legacy Unlimited (10000+ users) tier.
    • Renew your Jira or Confluence license at a non-legacy tier, then purchase the app at the same tier.

    Pricing FAQ

How does Data Center app pricing work?

If app pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

How do I determine my Data Center pricing?

Apps are billed based on the number of users in your Atlassian product. The app tier should match the licensed user tier of the Atlassian product. For example, if you have a Confluence license for 500 users, you should purchase the 500-user tier for apps. Even if fewer users want to use the app than your Atlassian product license, the two licenses should match exactly.

Can I install this app in a Data Center product?
