Define rules per project in seconds
Choose a from type and a to type, and that change is blocked. Rules are set per project by a project admin and take effect immediately. No scripting, no workflow configuration, no save step to forget.
Protect data that does not come back
Changing a work item's type can drop custom field values, remap its status, and shift its position in a sprint. Jira keeps no backup of dropped fields. Rules prevent the changes you never want anyone to make.

Work Type Guardrails lets a project admin decide which work item type changes are allowed, and blocks the rest.
Type changes are easy to make and hard to undo. A Bug becomes a Story and your defect metrics stop matching reality. Custom fields configured for one type are dropped when an item moves to another, and Jira keeps no copy.
Workflow validators cannot help with most of this, because most type changes never go through a workflow transition. This app validates the type change itself, so rules apply however the change is made.
