The attached email, rendered on the issue

The Emails tab renders each attached file as an email card: a header carrying subject, sender, recipients and date, the body with inline images, and an attachment list with byte-identical per-item download.

Every issue, nothing to configure

Both surfaces appear the moment the app is installed: an Emails tab on the issue, and an Attached emails group in the sidebar that counts the email attachments and lists each one by filename, attached date and uploader.

Read as you, parsed in the browser, stored nowhere

Eleven granular Jira permissions, all reads except one write, used only when you click Attach. Each email is read from your own Jira as you and parsed in your browser. Cloudscript operates no server or store.

More details

Every .msg or .eml file attached to a Jira issue is rendered in place in the Emails tab: subject, sender, recipients, date, body, inline images and a downloadable attachment list. A partial or failed render states the reason. One click attaches a file from inside an email to the work item.

The issue sidebar counts attached emails and lists each by filename, attached date and uploader.

In Jira Service Management the app is for agents and other internal users; rendered emails are not visible to customers using the portal. The Emails tab is in the issue's Activity section.

Data security:

11 granular Jira permissions: 10 reads, 1 write used only when you click Attach. Every call runs as the viewing user, so Jira's permissions decide what renders. Files are read from your own Jira and parsed in your browser, only the first 1,024 bytes of each are read on Atlassian-hosted compute to classify its format, then discarded. Nothing is stored, and no email content reaches Cloudscript.

Summary
Emails tab, sidebar count and index, attach to work item.
Details

First public release:

  • Renders .msg and .eml attachments as an email card in the Emails tab: subject, sender, recipients, date, body, inline images and an attachment list with byte-identical per-item download.
  • Attach to work item promotes a file inside a rendered email to an attachment on the work item you are viewing, on your click, as you; Attach all N files does the same for one email's files.
  • An Attached emails group in the sidebar counts the email attachments and lists each by filename, attached date and uploader, newest first, above a line pointing to the Emails tab.
  • Both surfaces are present on every issue in every project from install, with no setup.
  • Every call runs as the person viewing the issue, under eleven granular Jira permissions, one of which is a write used only for the attachment create.
  • Remote images are blocked until the reader loads them; a file that cannot be rendered in full gets a card saying what happened; oversized files are refused.
