Only the right files ever get uploaded
Choose the allowed file types, the maximum number of files, and the maximum size per project. Every upload is validated against the rules before it's stored, so files that break them never get in.
No issue moves forward without its file
File Field is a native Jira field, so you can make it mandatory in Jira's field configuration. Jira then blocks creating, editing, or transitioning an issue until at least one file is attached.

A File Field now draws its files the way you choose — as a list, cards, or a grid of tiles — set once per field context in the new Display tab. It changes how files are shown, not what may be uploaded.
- Four choices, each with a preview — Auto, List, Cards and Grid, drawn as a sample under the setting.
- Auto is the default and keeps what you have — one file as a card, several as a list. A field nobody configures looks exactly as today.
- The edit view now matches the issue — several files used to show full cards while editing, one-line rows after saving.
- Category sections follow the order you defined — they used to appear in upload order, and reshuffled on every save.
- Turning categories off now hides them everywhere — the issue view kept showing headings from categories stored on the files.
