Key highlights of the appSprint history as searchable columns: what was added after the start, what was pulled out, and when
Search what Jira cannot
Type "Sprint removals" > 0 into Jira search and you get every work item that has ever been pulled out of a sprint, with all nine fields as columns beside it. Jira on its own cannot answer that.
How much of the sprint was planned
For each of your last sprints: what was there at the start, what arrived after it began, and what was taken out. Every number on the chart is a link into your own search.
It tells you when it is behind
The app has a status page of its own. How many work items are done, how many are waiting, how far behind it is. It also gives you the query behind every number, so you can check it yourself.
More details
Every time a work item goes into a sprint, comes out of one, or gets carried to the next, Jira writes it down. It is all in the change log. None of it is searchable.
Sprint history copies it into nine ordinary Jira fields:
- Sprint start, Sprint end
- Sprint removals, Last sprint removal, Removed from sprint
- Added after sprint start
- Sprints in total, All sprints
- Sprint history computed
Ordinary fields, so you already know how to use them. Search "Sprint removals" > 1 and you get every work item that has been pulled out of a sprint more than once. Sort by it. Save it as a filter. Put it on a board.
There is a dashboard gadget too. It shows how much of your last sprint was planned and how much arrived after it started, and every number on it is a link to the search behind it.
Fields update within a minute of a sprint change, and nothing is ever more than a day old.

Version 3.2.0•for Jira Cloud
- Release date
- Aug 24th 2026
- Summary
- First release. Sprint history as nine searchable fields on every work item.
- Details
First public release.
Sprint history adds nine read only fields to every work item and fills them in on its own. What Jira already knew about your sprints becomes something you can search, sort, filter and show as a column.
The nine: sprint start, sprint end, added after sprint start, sprint removals, last sprint removal, removed from sprint, sprints in total, all sprints, and when the app last worked the item out.
From day one you can ask which work items keep getting pulled out of sprints, which arrived after the sprint had already started, and which have been carried through five sprints without finishing. Ordinary Jira queries, not a report you can only look at.
A dashboard gadget shows your recent sprints at a glance, and every number on it links to the query behind it.
Fields update within a minute of a sprint change. Everything else is checked once a day.
Nothing leaves your site.
