This macro can be used to add various UML, ditaa or JCCKit diagrams to a confluence wiki page. Similar to the Confluence wiki markup, the diagram is defined as a simple text using a special syntax defined by the PlantUML Project. You don't need any drawing editor to draw such diagrams!
The macro can be used to generate the following diagram types:
- Sequence Diagram
- Use Case Diagram
- Class Diagram
- Activity Diagram
- Component Diagram
- State Diagram
- Object Diagram
- Flowcharts
- GraphViz Diagram
- Ditaa Diagram
- JCCKit Diagram
- Design graphical Interface with Salt
Please note that you have to install some additional software (GraphViz) so that this plugin can work, please read the documentation!

The PlantUML for Confluence plugin just uses the underlying plantuml library as-is without any modification.


The graphviz package is native and depends on the platform you are running your Confluence server. Therefore graphviz cannot be bundled with the plugin. Please have a look at the installation notes here: https://avono-support.atlassian.net/wiki/display/PUML/Installation

The character encoding is taken from Confluence (JavaVM) and should be UTF-8 by default. Take a look at this page if you have character encoding problems: https://avono-support.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/PUML/pages/17727562/Frequently+asked+questions

The PlantUML for Confluence plugin just uses the underlying plantuml library as-is without any modification.

Installation
- Log into your Confluence instance as an admin.
- Click the admin dropdown and choose Add-ons. The Manage add-ons screen loads.
- Click Find new apps or Find new add-ons from the left-hand side of the page.
- Locate PlantUML for Confluence via search. Results include app versions compatible with your Confluence instance.
- Click Install to download and install your app.
- You're all set! Click Close in the Installed and ready to go dialog.
To find older PlantUML for Confluence versions compatible with your instance, you can look through our version history page.
