Cloud version is still missing some of the features that make the server version so useful, but it is getting closer. The features that are there are working well.

Hello, Jim. Thanks for sharing your feedback. We're sorry we didn't meet your expectations.

What you said is true. Structure Cloud doesn’t have all the features of the on-prem. versions. We've been pretty open about that from the start -- "Those familiar with the server or data center editions of Structure may want to learn how Structure Cloud is different." -- and we're working hard to deliver more parity. The product gets better every month.

You may wish to subscribe to our release notes to learn when/which new features are being released.

If you would like to know what other major features are planned for the near future, you'll find that information on our roadmap.

    Thanks again for your feedback.

Unfortunately there is no possability clone issues in JIRA Cloud in same way, like it is possible in JIRA Server. Sorry, I need find another App for such functionality.

    ALM Works

Hi, Laurencija. Unfortunately, you've highlighted a feature that's difficult for us to replicate on the cloud version of Jira.

The server and data center versions of Jira have an underlying capability (and a related API) that enabled us to develop the cloning feature you are familiar with. The underlying capabilities that enable it are not available on cloud Jira.

That said, our team plans to offer a cloud version of this capability at some point. It's not in the short-term road map but it is in the plan.

You can keep an eye on what's coming by visiting the Structure Cloud roadmap from time to time. You can also ask our support team to add your name to the list of folks who wish to be notified when the feature is available.

They have great, fast and responsive support and this feature is what we've been waiting for on Jira! They are in the process of transitioning features from server to cloud, so it's getting better all the time.

There are missing functionalities on the cloud version when related to the on premise version. It does not help us, seeing the price, to insall it without those functions at this stage... That's why we stop the trial ; waiting ...

Hi, Quentin. Thanks for that feedback. You're right. As with Jira Jira itself, there are important differences between Structure Cloud and the server/data center versions. We try to be transparent about those differences.

We are also working aggressively to enhance our cloud solutions. The Structure Cloud roadmap is the best place to watch for what's coming next.

It would be great if you contact our support team to let us know which features you miss the most. It's feedback from folks like you that help us set priorities.

Structure has been an integral part of our Jira installation for almost 6 years. With a few lines of generators, we build hierarchies of issues that allow Product Managers and Program Managers to view work from the Themes and Releases perspective, the Development team to work at the Epic, Story and Sub-task level, and gives everyone visibility up and down the structure to supply context or details as needed. We can also build ad hoc structures very quickly, which helps us to summarize reams of Jira data in response to a wide variety of questions as they emerge. The product is very capable, and the support we get from ALM Works is first class!

Really great tool that makes life easier for both Scrum teams and the management: it significantly enhances the overview, speeds up the actions - especially the bulk ones, allows the creation of customizable reports on team / project / product level... Speaking of customizations, it is amazing what man can do with Structure formulas - from the creation of 1-2 KPI columns to establishing the whole project roadmap, without the need of any other project management tool! Also, the support from ALM Works is very great and reliable.

Structure adds a useful needed layer on top of Jira to make project management easier. We are increasingly using it across a variety of projects. They also provide a Gantt plugin which integrates well into Structure and Jira mechanisms to provide timeline views without having to enter duplicate information. (Structure itself is quite mature, the Gantt plugin is newer and needs some work but it works well overall). And support from Almworks has been good, they are quick to respond.

Structure makes Jira much more usuable. The ability to view issues in a nested, expandable hierarchy, is something I find sorely lacking in the base product. Structure/ALM Works has made an invaluable tool for project managers and end users alike. Plus, top-notch tech support when needed!

As Program Manager, I'm using Structure plugin daily. It's simply the easiest and most powerful way to capture tens of Jira Projects issues in a flexible manner. I do combine Structure outcomes with VBA macros to calculate decision-making KPIs. Great plugin!

Hello, Pietro. We are very glad to hear Structure is working well for you. If you haven't already done so, you may want to check out the Structure Formula feature. Perhaps it will enable you to reduce or eliminate the need to work externally with VBA (not that there's anything wrong with that).

Thanks for sharing your thoughts here,

Great tool. We are testing this for a month and would like to use it as our PPM tool. One concern about the progress, based on our testing ,all the columns are still configurable even we only assign view permission to people. Then in that way everyone will see different columns and different progress. Is there any way to lock down the columns and configurations?
1 out of 1 found this review helpful
    ALM Works

Hi Ming Cheng, thanks for your review!

Regarding the columns configuration, users can *adjust* what they are seeing, but they will not be able to overwrite the view shared with other people. You can tell that a view is adjusted by spotting a "*" symbol near the view name. You can also revert to the saved view. By design, there's no way to restrict users from adding more columns or changing column configuration.

Also, you can use Perspectives to get a URL that always opens in a predefined configuration.

Feel free to reach us at support@almworks.com and discuss the available options to solve this challenge.

    Kind regards,Igor

    Hi Javad,

Thanks for the kind words! Glad to know Formula column worked for you.

We'll be happy to assist you with any challenges you experience. The Start Date / Finish Date seems to be custom fields, which JIRA does not provide for Projects and Versions. Please write us to support@almworks.com and we'll be happy to discuss ways to approach this.

    Kind regards,Igor

    Pricing FAQ

How does cloud app pricing work?

Cloud apps are sold as a monthly or annual subscription. You are eligible for support and automatic version updates as long as your subscription is active.

When your subscription renews each month, you are automatically billed for apps based on the number of users in your instance.

If app pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

How do I determine my cloud pricing?

Apps are billed based on the number of users in your Atlassian product. Jira Cloud apps are priced based on the maximum users of the Jira products on your instance. For example, if you have Jira Software (50 users) and Jira Service Management (10 agents) on the same instance, you pay the 50-user price for apps.Note: While this app has features specific to Jira Service Management, the app is technically available across the whole Jira instance. Therefore the above guidelines for licensing across maximum users still apply.

The pricing structure for cloud apps is as follows:

    • Monthly subscriptions with up to 10 Atlassian product users are billed at a flat rate price.
    • Monthly subscriptions with more than 10 users are billed per user, starting at the first user.
    • Monthly subscriptions with more than 100 users are billed per user. The table above provides example pricing at various user levels.

Annual subscriptions may offer a discount depending on the number of users purchased.

Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses for cloud apps?

Yes. Academic, community, and open source licenses are available to qualifying organizations. See our Purchasing & Licensing FAQ for more information.

Can I extend my free trial?

For cloud apps, you cannot extend your free evaluation period. All cloud apps are immediately subscribed by a user, and we provide a free evaluation period. This is a minimum of 30 days and ends on the second billing cycle after you first subscribe to the app.

    Pricing FAQ

How does server app pricing work?

Server products and apps are hosted on your servers. This app is sold as a perpetual license, and the purchase price includes 12 months of maintenance (support and version updates).

You can renew maintenance after 12 months at 50% of the current purchase price. You can upgrade the tier of your Atlassian product and app licenses at any time. Upgrade prices are calculated based on Atlassian's formula (view example).

If app pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

How do I determine my server pricing?

Apps are billed based on the number of users in your Atlassian product. For Jira 7.0 or later, the app tier should match the maximum tier of the licensed Jira products on your instance. For example, if you're running Jira Software (500 users) and Jira Service Management (25 agents) on the same instance, you should purchase the 500-user tier for apps. For versions of Jira prior to 7.0, the app tier should match the licensed user tier for Jira. Even if fewer users want to use the app than your Jira license, the two licenses should match exactly. Note: While this app has features specific to Jira Service Management, the app is technically available across the whole Jira instance. Therefore the above guidelines for the license tier still apply.

Can I install this app in a Data Center product?

Yes, this app has a Data Center approved version. If you're using a Data Center product, you should install the Data Center version of the app.

Community and open-source licenses are available for server apps. Learn more about community and open source licenses.

Can I extend my free trial?

For server apps, you can extend your app trial up to 5 times - in other words, for up to six months. Extend your trial by generating a new evaluation license key from Atlassian Marketplace. Click Try it free and you'll be directed to generate a new license. Paste this license key into the app listing in UPM from your Atlassian product, and you're all set.

How can I buy apps for my legacy Jira Server or Confluence Server license?

If you own a legacy Jira Server Unlimited (100+ users) or Confluence Server Unlimited (2000+ users) license purchased in 2012 or earlier, legacy app pricing is no longer available. You have two options for app purchasing:

    • Purchase the app at the non-legacy Unlimited (10000+ users) tier.
    • Renew your Jira or Confluence license at a non-legacy tier, then purchase the app at the same tier.
