From Dec 3, 2026, Jira Automation usage beyond your plan’s step allowance is billed as extra usage. Every trigger, condition, action, branch and loop that runs counts as a step. Platform usage shows what you already used. This app audits your Jira Automation rules and shows which will use the most, and why.
How it works
- In Jira Automation, choose … > Export flows.
- Drop the JSON into the app (Jira settings > Apps).
- See rules ranked by estimated steps, with risk flags.
- Open a rule for numbered rewrite tips, then edit it in Jira.
- Turn on weekly digests to catch new costly rules.
What it flags: branch fan-out, loops, unfiltered update triggers, scheduled rules with no JQL.
Runs on Atlassian (Forge). No API tokens, no data leaves your site. Optional Step-Saver bulk actions use write access; the analyzer only reads.
Estimates come from rule structure, not your bill. Check Insights > Platform usage for actuals.
