Key highlights of the appConfluence approvals that go stale the moment someone edits the page
More details
An approval that survives an edit is worse than no approval at all. It tells everyone the page was checked, while the words on it have moved on since anyone looked.
This ties each approval to the exact version it was given for. Approve a Confluence page and the badge is real. Edit so much as a line and the tick goes stale on its own, because the thing that was approved no longer exists, and whoever reads it next can see that plainly.
The check that decides who may approve runs on the server, where it cannot be clicked past from a browser console. An approver whose permission sits deep in a large group is still found. Nothing about a person is stored beyond the record of who approved which version. Built on Forge, it runs inside Atlassian’s infrastructure with no server of ours in the path.
