Key highlights of the appProject timelines that feel built into Jira — a fast drag-and-drop Gantt with dependencies, workload and write-back

hero

A real Gantt, not a read-only roadmap

Your Jira issues as a plan you can work: a tree by parent, bars from your own date and estimate fields, dependencies from your issue links. Drag a bar and the Jira issue changes with it, written as you.

Dependencies, lag and the critical path

Draw between two bars to create a real Jira issue link, then set its type — finish-to-start, start-to-start, finish-to-finish, start-to-finish — and its lag in days. Dependents reschedule themselves.

See who is overloaded before the release slips

The histogram docks under the timeline and shows each person's weekly load, taken from the schedule you are looking at. Overallocation shows in red, while there is still time to move work.

More details

Open FastGantt from the project sidebar and your issues appear as a Gantt: a tree by parent, bars from your date and estimate fields, dependencies from your issue links. First run detects your fields; a mapping screen gives full control.

Edit the plan, don't just view it. Drag bars to reschedule, resize to re-estimate, rename inline or edit in a drawer — every change writes back to the Jira issue as you, with your permissions. Draw between bars to create real Jira issue links, with type (FS/SS/FF/SF) and lag. Toggle the critical path; auto-scheduling keeps dependents consistent, with undo/redo throughout.

Sprint bands and release markers overlay the timeline, baselines show drift from the agreed plan, and a workload heatmap gives each person's weekly load — overallocation in red.

An in-tenant cache renders large projects instantly, refreshing in the background. Native Jira look, light and dark.

Built entirely on Atlassian Forge with zero egress: your data never leaves your tenant.

Summary
First release: a drag-and-drop Gantt for Jira that writes back to your issues
Details

First release.

• Gantt timeline built from your Jira issues: tree by parent, bars from the date and estimate fields you map, dependencies from your issue links.
• Two-way editing: drag, resize, rename, re-parent and drawer edits write back to the issue as you, with your permissions. Undo/redo throughout.
• Dependencies: draw between bars to create real Jira issue links, with FS/SS/FF/SF type and lag. Critical-path toggle; auto-scheduling keeps dependents consistent.
• Baselines: capture a plan, then see the slip per task against it.
• Sprint bands and release markers overlaid on the timeline header.
• Workload: each person's weekly load, docked under the plan or on its own, overallocation in red.
• Guided first-run field detection, plus a full mapping screen — any date, estimate or points field, project or JQL scope.
• Fast on large projects: an in-tenant cache renders instantly and refreshes in the background.
• Light and dark. 100% Forge, no egress: nothing leaves your tenant.
