The app Navitabs allows users to:

    • Display content from other pages on one central page or
    • Structure long content into tabs to prevent too much scrolling

It does this by providing a selection of powerful macros:

Childtabs: Define the parent page. The macro will automatically generate tabs displaying the children's content.

Labeltabs: Define a specific label. The macro will automatically generate tabs with all the pages carrying that label and display their content in them.

Tab Group & Tab: For advanced users and more sophisticated content: Insert the Tab Group macro, then add as many Tab macros as you need to structure your content. Fill each Tab with the desired content and label the Tabs individually.

Tabs (Beta) - Create tabs more quickly: The new macro interface allows you to create, label, and fill tabs with standard content (text, images, status, panels, etc.) with a few clicks. This macro is in Beta. Your feedback is much appreciated.

On the cloud version, the new editor local tabs did not work. There was no option to add content for the tabs in the tab group.

We're sorry to read that you had trouble using our app.

The review section here is unfortunately not the best way to ask for support. Our support team at http://support.bitvoodoo.ch is happy to answer any questions and provide support.

We are also always happy to receive feedback from our app customers with suggestions for improvement, criticism, or addressing needs.

    Kind regards

Sometimes the when adding a table to a tab the format get distorted and the width of the table reduces, it's quite annoying when that happens. Also there is two options within the macros, one 'Local Tab (Legacy)' and the other 'Local Tab (New Editor)', this has caused a lot of confusion when setting up the tabs. Also what would be nice is if adding a grouped set of tabs, when editing the page we can also group the content direct within the housing a tab. That way if we need to move the tabs around, we can simply just drag and drop the tab within the grouped section. It's a good plug-in but key enhancements are required to make it smoother and overall easier to use as a end customer.

Thank you for your review. We aren't happy with the current tab creation flow too. So you can expect soon a new tab experience which is much easier as now :-)

Navitabs is a very strong tab-solution. We are running a few hunderd pages in Confluence Cloud with lots of tabs on each page on which we embed not only Confluence tables including hyperlinks, but also e.g. expand macro’s and 3rd party (database) forms (using iframe as a concept combined with a 3rd party html macro). As we migrated from an alternative TAB solution that announced end of life (Macro Toolbox) we where very very happy by the migration offered by Navitabs which saved us a huge number of hours if done manually. Kudos for this plugin!

My earlier experience was confusing and frankly poor. But the service call with Kevin was great. My issues in using this macro are sorted and I am happy that I am continuing with using this for my org's documentation.

Very nice plugin. Could we have upgrade for Confluence 5.9.x too? Actually plugin seems to work in upgraded QA Confluence but it would be nice to have it officially available. Current version is available only until version 5.8.18.

    Hi Jarno

Thank you for your review. The Navitabs is working with 5.9 if you are not using localtab groups within a localtab. You can watch the state of this issue here: https://bitvoodoo.atlassian.net/browse/NAVITABS-61.

The newest version is now compatible with Confluence 5.9

We use it quite heavily but there could be improvements like the options to add color to the lines, have the ability for the vertical tabs to show the whole title of the child tabs instead of cutting them off, the ability to increase font size of the tabs, and lastly when you get more than like 8 tabs and it creates a second tab menu the formatting looks a little goofy. If there was increased formatting options I might push our institution to get the paid version of this macro.

I liked it while it was free. As 90% of the navitab functionality was built into the Atlassian AUI, I was planning on writing my own 'navitab' like macro till I came across the free one from bitvoodoo. As it's now gone to a paid license model, I've decided to return to my roots and just write the macro. I implemented disabled variants for the localtab, localtabgroup and childtab so I could install the macro, disable the bitvoodoo macro and enable my aliases so that there was no loss in functionality. I've posted the code to bitbucket in case somebody else wants to go down the same road: https://bitbucket.org/selberg/aui-tab Note, in implementing my own I did discover a bug in the last free navitab macro. It doesn't detect loops. For example, if you add the childtab macro and set the root to be an ancestor of the page, it happily loops forever.

ChildTabs is problematic and needs refinement. If the page is incorrectly entered and a page with the entered name doesn't exist the page can't be loaded when the page is saved. This effectively locks us out of the page unless we can work out the page's Edit Mode URL. This happens if autocomplete is ignored by users (often is) and especially in cases where a valid page name is entered but it contains a ":" character in the title. Everythign before the ":" is considered a spacekey which leads to failure. Navitabs is great. Childtabs bugs = blocker. Have contacted the developer but have yet to hear back.

    Pricing FAQ

How does cloud app pricing work?

Cloud apps are sold as a monthly or annual subscription. You are eligible for support and automatic version updates as long as your subscription is active.

When your subscription renews each month, you are automatically billed for apps based on the number of users in your instance.

If app pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

How do I determine my cloud pricing?

Apps are billed based on the number of users in your Atlassian product. Confluence Cloud apps are priced based on the number of Confluence users on your instance. For example, if you have Confluence Cloud (25 users), you pay the 25-user price for apps.

The pricing structure for cloud apps is as follows:

    • Monthly subscriptions with up to 10 Atlassian product users are billed at a flat rate price.
    • Monthly subscriptions with more than 10 users are billed per user, starting at the first user.
    • Monthly subscriptions with more than 100 users are billed per user. The table above provides example pricing at various user levels.

Annual subscriptions may offer a discount depending on the number of users purchased.

Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses for cloud apps?

Yes. Academic, community, and open source licenses are available to qualifying organizations. See our Purchasing & Licensing FAQ for more information.

Can I extend my free trial?

For cloud apps, you cannot extend your free evaluation period. All cloud apps are immediately subscribed by a user, and we provide a free evaluation period. This is a minimum of 30 days and ends on the second billing cycle after you first subscribe to the app.

    Pricing FAQ

How does server app pricing work?

Server products and apps are hosted on your servers. This app is sold as a perpetual license, and the purchase price includes 12 months of maintenance (support and version updates).

You can renew maintenance after 12 months at 50% of the current purchase price. You can upgrade the tier of your Atlassian product and app licenses at any time. Upgrade prices are calculated based on Atlassian's formula (view example).

If app pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

How do I determine my server pricing?

Apps are billed based on the number of users in your Atlassian product. The app tier should match the licensed user tier of the Atlassian product. For example, if you have a Confluence license for 500 users, you should purchase the 500-user tier for apps. Even if fewer users want to use the app than your Atlassian product license, the two licenses should match exactly.

Can I install this app in a Data Center product?

Yes, this app has a Data Center approved version. If you're using a Data Center product, you should install the Data Center version of the app.

Learn more about Data Center approved apps

What type of license do I need if I'm using this app in a Data Center product?

Because this app has a Data Center approved version, you should purchase a Data Center license for the app.

If you already own a server license for this app, you can continue using the server license in your Data Center product for a limited period of time.

Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses for server apps?

For server apps, academic licenses are available at a 50% discount if you have an academic license for your Atlassian product.

Community and open-source licenses are available for server apps. Learn more about community and open source licenses.

Can I extend my free trial?

For server apps, you can extend your app trial up to 5 times - in other words, for up to six months. Extend your trial by generating a new evaluation license key from Atlassian Marketplace. Click Try it free and you'll be directed to generate a new license. Paste this license key into the app listing in UPM from your Atlassian product, and you're all set.

How can I buy apps for my legacy Jira Server or Confluence Server license?

If you own a legacy Jira Server Unlimited (100+ users) or Confluence Server Unlimited (2000+ users) license purchased in 2012 or earlier, legacy app pricing is no longer available. You have two options for app purchasing:

    • Purchase the app at the non-legacy Unlimited (10000+ users) tier.
    • Renew your Jira or Confluence license at a non-legacy tier, then purchase the app at the same tier.
