Created vs Resolved charts for Scrum, Kanban (Agile Reports)

This report helps us quickly answer a simple but important question: are we resolving work as fast as we're creating it? The visual comparison makes trends easy to understand and supports better planning discussions with stakeholders. The ability to analyze data across projects and customize the reporting period makes it even more valuable.

We needed a simple answer to whether demand was growing faster than our ability to finish work. The cumulative view makes the widening gap obvious and gives us solid evidence for capacity discussions.

The chart helped us prove that our backlog was growing even though sprint velocity looked stable. Teams were completing work consistently, but intake had increased more. Seeing both sides together changed the planning conversation.

We track created versus resolved incidents by priority. A sudden increase in high-priority intake is visible immediately, and the issue breakdown helps us verify whether the change is real or caused by a filter problem.

The by-period chart is now part of our monthly review. It shows seasonal spikes in incoming work and whether the team catches up afterward, which was difficult to see from Jira's standard reports.
