Key highlights of the appKeep Confluence page trees sorted A-Z, Z-A or newest first, automatically, as pages are added, renamed or moved

Page trees that stay sorted by themselves
Confluence sorts a list once and forgets. Sort Pages keeps a rule: pages created, renamed, moved, copied or restored fall into place within a minute, and a weekly check catches anything missed.
The order people actually expect
A to Z with natural numbers, so Chapter 2 comes before Chapter 10 and 1.9 before 1.10. Z to A, newest first for meeting notes, oldest first. Pin Overview to the top and Archive to the bottom.
Undo back to the original order
Before its first move, Sort Pages records the order it found; one click puts every list back and pauses the rule. Each sort moves as few pages as possible and creates no page versions.

The problem
Confluence Cloud can sort a page's children once. Add a page tomorrow and it lands at the bottom again. Keeping pages permanently sorted (CONFCLOUD-65454) is one of the most-voted open Confluence requests.
What Sort Pages does
Rules that stick. Sort a page's children, every level below it, a folder, or a whole space. The nearest rule wins, so a sorted space can have exceptions — including "leave this section as arranged".
Orders people expect. A to Z with natural numbers, Z to A, newest first, oldest first, with pages pinned to the top or bottom.
Automatic. New, renamed, moved, copied and restored pages fall into place within a minute.
Preview, sort once, or undo. See exactly which pages would move. Restore the original order in one click.
Good to know
Only the order changes: no page is edited and no version is created. Pages restricted from the app stay where they are. Nothing leaves your site.

- Sep 26th 2026
- Summary
- First release: rules that keep Confluence page trees sorted automatically.
- Details
Sort Pages keeps Confluence page trees in order, automatically.
- Rules per page, per folder, or for a whole space: direct children only, or every level below. The nearest rule wins, so a sorted space can have exceptions, including sections left as arranged.
- Orders: A to Z and Z to A with natural number order, newest first and oldest first, with pages pinned to the top or bottom.
- Pages created, renamed, moved, copied or restored fall into place within a minute; a weekly check catches anything missed.
- "Sort child pages" on every page: preview, sort once, or keep sorted.
- Space settings: every rule in the space, sort now, pause, and an activity log of what moved.
- Restore the original order: before its first move the app records the order it found, and one click puts it back.
- Each sort moves as few pages as possible. Reordering creates no page versions and sends no notifications.
