The Universal Plugin Manager (UPM) provides a powerful and user-friendly interface to manage your add-ons. Through the UPM you can browse, try, and buy add-ons from the Atlassian Marketplace. You can also use the UPM to do common administrative tasks such as:
Finally, use the UPM to review logs of add-on/application activity and to upgrade your Atlassian application.
This version introduces several bug fixes, most notably one which fixes UPM internal period jobs in Confluence 5.10+.

Fixed a bug in the Purchased Add-ons feature and in displaying correct logos on the Find New Add-ons page.
This release fixes a bug that caused timeout warnings to appear frequently on the Manage Plugins page.
This release includes many key improvements to the Universal Plugin Manager:
This release fixes a problem in the Purchased Add-ons feature that caused spurious notifications to appear in the UPM notification dropdown (issue UPM-3311).
New to UPM 2.8.1 is the ability to directly install all add-on licenses purchased on MyAtlassian into your Atlassian application.
Additionally, many UI improvements and other bugfixes are in this release.
...and many more improvements.
This release fixes two problems as well as other minor bugs:
* UPM was unable to download plugins when using a web proxy.
* Certain Jira and Confluence versions were being incorrectly flagged as "unknown" versions.
The Plugin Marketplace/Find New Plugins page has been redesigned to provide filters similar to those on marketplace.atlassian.com - plugin categories, paid/free status, etc. There is also a single-plugin detail view that appears if you click a banner image.
Communications with the marketplace.atlassian.com server now use a new, public JSON-based REST API, which is more efficient and supports HTTP caching.
UPM can now distinguish between Enterprise and standard licenses for Jira and Confluence, and will display Enterprise pricing when appropriate.
(Note, versions 2.7 and 2.7.1 have been unpublished due to bugs that are fixed in 2.7.2.)
This bug-fix release addresses several user interface and styling problems that appeared only in OnDemand, Fisheye, and Stash.
This version fixes a user interface problem when installed in an Atlassian OnDemand instance. Customers with their own servers do not need this upgrade.
This release fixes a bug that could cause an inappropriate warning message ("The base URL of your instance is inconsistent with the URL in your browser") to appear even when the base URL was correct, if it was an HTTPS URL. It also includes a UI fix that only affects Stash 1.1.2. There are no other changes.
This release suppresses a warning ("Unexpected error decoding stored license: null") that would be logged when starting up the application without a license.
This release includes a redesign of the UPM UI for clarity and usability, and to improve integration with the Atlassian Marketplace. The "Manage Plugins" and "Install" tabs of the previous UPM have been changed into separate items in the Plugins section of the admin menu; "Install" is now called "Find New Plugins", and it now includes more details from the Marketplace listings.
This patch release fixes two bugs in the licensing interface and integration with my.atlassian.com:
* If your host application did not have a context path (that is, if your Jira/Confluence/etc. was deployed at "http://mycompany.com/" rather than "http://mycompany.com/jira"), then the download-install-licensing flow that starts with clicking Try or Buy on a plugin in UPM would fail in the last step, when my.atlassian.com would try to install your license in UPM; you would have to manually copy and paste the license key.
* The "Renew" button would sometimes not appear for plugins with expiring licenses.
Fixes several bugs, including one which incorrectly caused GreenHopper to display Maintenance Expired errors.
This release contained a large number of major functional and visual changes.
Some of the larger changes are:
This release fixes a bug in version 1.6 which could prevent UPM from detecting whether the Plugin Exchange site is reachable.
Jira 4.3 comes with UPM 1.3.1 already bundled. If you have UPM installed in your jira-home/plugins/installed-plugins it should be removed when upgrading to Jira 4.3.
This is a minor enhancement release. Please see the release notes for full details.
