Templates your reporters actually see
The description template appears in the create dialog before the issue exists, so reporters fill in the blanks instead of starting from an empty box. Headings, lists, checklists and dividers are all supported.
Per project and issue type, no code
Bugs and stories can carry different defaults. The editor lists the fields that actually exist on that create screen, including cascading selects and other custom field types.
Company-managed and team-managed
Both project styles are supported. Defaults are configured the same way in either, and the app only offers the fields that project actually has.

Field Defaults fills in the create screen so reporters start from a form that already makes sense. Admins set the defaults per project and issue type in project settings, and the app applies them the moment the create dialog opens. Only empty fields are filled, so anything the reporter has typed is left alone. Works in company-managed and team-managed projects. Built on Atlassian Forge: no servers, no external services, and your data never leaves your site.

First public release. Set default values on the Jira create screen per project and issue type: description and multi-line text templates (headings, lists, checklists, dividers), priority, labels, components, fix versions, affects versions, due dates (fixed or a number of days after creation), assignee (a specific user, whoever creates the issue, or unassigned), and custom fields including single and multi selects, radio buttons, checkboxes, cascading selects, text, number, date, datetime and URL. Only empty fields are filled. Defaults are configured in project settings and apply in company-managed and team-managed projects.
