Thanks for the comment. We do know this is an area that needs attention and plan to improve it significantly over the coming months.

Simply great! This is extremely powerful and has allowed us to display many queries from our ERP into Confluence which is hugely appreciated by our users. Thanks Bob!

Is there a way to format the text of the SQL results? Currently, I can only get it to return in the default paragraph formatting in confluence. I really need the results to be formatted in a larger font so the results can be read on a TV monitor from a distance.

You can use various Confluence techniques for this like div and style from Content Formatting Macros (https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.adaptavist.confluence.contentFormattingMacros).

I tried to install the trial version on Confluence 5.1.5. Simply couldn't enable it. Generated multiple trial licence keys, uninstalled, reinstalled, nothing helped. Error: "This add-on could not be loaded. It has one or more errors which prevent it from being enabled." I have many people in my company who are interested in this plugin, but nobody's going to pay for it until they can see what it can do for them.

Make sure you are using a recent version of UPM and it is installing a compatible version of the plugin. Your Confluence logs may contain more information on the failure. If still not working, open a support issue with Atlassian - they are primarily responsible for UPM installation and licensing issues. If they can't resolve it promptly, let us know by opening a support issue with us at https://bobswift.atlassian.net/browse/SQL.

We have been using this and some other Bob Swift plugins for several years now. While they are useful the support is sub-standard, when compared to other vendors. Example: last version 8.5 was released 6 months ago had a bug that we reported. We had to roll back to a previous version 8.4 (released one year ago). No progress since on the resolution of the bug.

    Hi Robert,

WOW, so close! We are literally just days away from publicly releasing SQL version 9.0, which comes loaded with all kinds of awesome updates for admins. We've worked quite closely with many of our long-time supporters to design this release and can't wait to launch it!

I spoke with our head of engineering just now, and he confirmed that a new release of Table Library will be part of the version 9 release, and it includes your fix. If you'd like to get your hands on it early, please feel free to reach out to me directly at holly (at) appfire (dot) com. We'd love for you to give it a try and then revisit your review.

We sure do appreciate your keeping us on our toes and for your patience as we've worked hard to grow and scale our teams. Our upcoming SQL release is just the beginning, as soon you'll see releases for all of our top-voted Bob Swift Atlassian apps.

    Thanks,

    Hi Хрен,

Thank you for the 4-star review! We're so happy this app is working well for you.

Yes, it is definitely possible to pass parameters into your SQL queries. Please see our Working with SQL Parameters article for the syntax and additional information about common SQL parameters. If you run into any trouble, please feel free to submit a question, and we'll get back to you.

    Thanks again!

Hi, we are currently evaluating this plugin for our server hosted confluence. Are you planning to provide it for cloud as well? Best, Anne

Bob Swift Atlassian Add-ons (an Appfire company)

    Hello Anne!

Thank you for evaluating SQL for Confluence and providing your review. First off, I want you to know that we are releasing a new server version very soon which is packed full of love for administrators, making it much easier to administer your data sources. We hope that you will be able to give this version a try and provide us your feedback on it as well.

As for SQL for Confluence Cloud... well, that's a bit tricky to answer at this time. We would love to bring this app to Cloud, but there are a number of security, database connectivity, and performance challenges when running in the Cloud that we need to overcome. But we are definitely trying!

In the meantime, we do have a How-to Guide that maps out one possible solution for getting your SQL data into your Confluence Cloud instance. Please take a look and let us know if you have any questions. Also, please feel free to vote for and make yourself a watcher of issue SQL-243, where we are tracking Cloud interest.

If you would like to reach out to me directly to discuss your needs further or just get a few more details on the up-and-coming release for Confluence Server, please feel free to do so using my contact information below. Again, Anne, we truly appreciate your feedback, and we look forward to hearing from you!

    Regards,

    Holly Wright, Marketing Director

We are customers since year back and i enjoy this plugin a lot, as it saves us from restarting confluence to the left and the right. However.. The plugin is called Pro, but is limited to 30 datasources, which forces us to continuesly scrutinize what sources are still used or can be reused. See these as feature requests: * Unlimited (pro, ;)) datasources * Usage statistics macro * user-permissions per source (as now anyone can add an added source and see whats in the database.) Kind regards from Bob's biggest fan, Jonas EDIT: Thanks for the swift feedback and coming improvements. A lot of add-on vendors have a great deal to learn from Appfire, including Atlassian themselves.

    Hi Jonas,

Thank you for being a long-standing, loyal customer and for providing this thoughtful feedback. The team here at Bob Swift Atlassian Add-ons (an Appfire company) is always excited to hear from customers that find value in our products.

I do have some great news for you. SQL for Confluence 9.0, which is planned to be available very soon, has lifted the restriction on the number of data sources available so it will be unlimited. You'll no longer have to worry about juggling your configuration to accommodate the previous limit. You will also have the ability see the connection status of your data sources.

As for usage statistics, I think I understand the request but I would really love to hear more about the stats you are interested in. I can imagine needing to know which data sources are in use, the pages they're used on, and so forth. If you could please contact me directly at my email below so we can discuss it further, that would be great!

Currently only admins can add and edit data sources. However, we understand this request and we have a supporting product called Macro Security for Confluence, which gives you finer-grained control for who can use those data sources. After reviewing Macro Security if you have any additional needs, please email me directly.

Again, thank you so much for your feedback and I look forward to hearing from you soon!

    Regards,

    Holly Wright, Marketing Director

    Paid-via-Atlassian pricing FAQ

How does server app pricing work?

Server products and apps are hosted on your servers. Licenses are perpetual and the purchase price include 12 months of maintenance (support and version updates).

You can renew maintenance after 12 months at 50% of the current purchase price. You can upgrade the tier of your host product and app licenses at any time. Upgrade prices are calculated based on Atlassian's formula (view example).

If app pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

How do I determine my server pricing?

Apps are billed based on the number of users in your host product. The app tier should match the licensed user tier of the Atlassian host product. For example, if you have a Confluence Server license for 25 users, you should purchase the 25-user tier for apps. Even if fewer users want to use the app than your host product license, the two licenses should match exactly.

Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses?

For server apps, purchase and renewal is half-price if you have an academic license for your Atlassian host product. Server apps are always free for community and open-source licenses.

For more details about qualifying for special licenses, see here.

Can I extend my free trial?

For server apps, you can extend your app trial up to 5 times - in other words, for up to six months. Extend your trial by generating a new evaluation license key from Atlassian Marketplace. Click Try it free and you'll be directed to generate a new license. Paste this license key into the app listing in UPM from your Atlassian host product, and you're all set.

How can I buy apps for my legacy Jira Server or Confluence Server license?

If you own a legacy Jira Server Unlimited (100+ users) or Confluence Server Unlimited (2000+ users) license purchased in 2012 or earlier, legacy app pricing is no longer available. You have two options for app purchasing:

    • Purchase the app at the non-legacy Unlimited (10000+ users) tier.
    • Renew your Jira or Confluence license at a non-legacy tier, then purchase the app at the same tier.
