You can restrict the functionality to selected issue types and custom fields.
More details
Copy to Subtak plugin lets you copy the custom field values (not standard Jira fields like summary or description) from parent issue to its subtasks on creation.
There are minor configurations available using which you can limit this functionality to selected issueTypes and Custom Fields. You can also optionally hide the custom fields that are to be copied from the create subtask screen. Without this, the value will be pre-populated from the parent issue but can be overwritten on creation of the actual subtask.
Check out the version compatiability for Jira to download the matching version.
Look at the documentation for installation details.
NOTE: You must install the jsp files along with the plugin jar if you are on a version prior to 4.0.

Hi, Did you install the JSP files as mentioned in the instructions?

Hi,
Whic version are you using? Did you deploy the jsp files as well? We have tested it in 6.4 and it works fine. Existing customers have confirmed that as well.
Can you raise a ticket at https://j-tricks.atlassian.net/browse/JCTS instead of a marketplace review? Thanks in advance.

Hi, Unfortunately, we cannot override the existing JIRA option. It is sort of similar to how Tempo adds its own "Log Work" on top of the JIRA default one. Hope that makes sense!
You can, however, disable the standard 'Create Subtask' option, if you would like.

Hey Chris,
Did you install the JSP files? Please see http://www.j-tricks.com/copy-to-subtask-plugin.html for instructions.
UPDATE: As per the mail conversaion, we understand that the previous error has gone away. As mentioned in the plugin description, it doesn't support standard issues fields like "Fix Version". But if you are having issues with the custom fields (like in the case of the Project custom field you are mentioning about), we can surely take a look. Please create a bug report at https://j-tricks.atlassian.net/ along with logs and screenshots and we will address the issues as soon as we can. Thanks for your interest in the plugin.
