Approval Gate for Jira

Approval Gate puts a sign-off step on a Jira issue: request approval from named people in the issue panel, and see who has approved, who has not, and why something was rejected. Ask any one of them, all of them, or a set number.

To actually block work, add the app's workflow validator to the transition that must not happen without sign-off. It works in team-managed projects too, which have no built-in Jira approvals on any plan. Without that validator the panel records the decision but does not stop the transition.

An approval is bound to the issue's scope: change the summary, description, type, priority, labels, components, fix versions, due date or parent and the approval goes stale and has to be given again. Comments, worklog and status deliberately do not. Every decision is kept in an audit trail and mirrored as a Jira comment. Built by Ballon Apps, in English.
