Key highlights of the appPreview .msg and .eml email attachments on the Confluence page: inline images and files inside to download. Free up to 10 users
.msg & .eml rendered on the page & in PDF export
On the page and in PDF export: subject, sender, recipients, date, the body with formatting and inline images, and the files inside the email as tiles to download. Drop a file onto the macro to attach it to the page
Built for real-world email files
Handles bodies in HTML, plain text or Outlook RTF, inline images, emails attached inside emails. Where a file can't be fully displayed, a plain-English message says what happened and available fields still display.
Data read from your page, no external storage
The file is read directly from the page, parsed in the reader's browser and never written to external storage by the app. Each view re-renders the attachment itself, not an extract.

More details
• Read a .msg or .eml attached to the page as an email on the page and in its PDF export: inline images and the files inside to download
• A Details control shows every header, the authentication results as recorded and where each link really goes, for phishing triage
• Read it as plain text or as its .eml source; fold earlier replies; Copy findings pastes a defanged summary
• Word export now carries the email as text
• Drop an email file onto the macro to attach it to the page, or pick one already attached
• Viewing an email does not notify its sender (internet images stay off until you load them)
Data security:
• No server, no storage of its own, no outbound network access declared; the app keeps no copy of the email
• Parsed in your browser (Word export: in Atlassian's own runtime); every call runs as you, under Confluence's permissions
• 2 Confluence permissions: read the page's attachments, and add one only when you upload through the macro

Version information
Version 2.5.0•for Confluence Cloud
- Release date
- Nov 1st 2026
- Summary
- See every header, the recorded authentication results and where each link goes.
- Details
New
- A Details control beside each email's headers shows the authentication results the receiving servers recorded, the delivery route, where replies go when Reply-To differs from the sender, every link with the address it really goes to, the remote images the viewer blocks, and every header. A host written outside basic Latin is shown with its ASCII form.
- Copy findings puts a plain-text summary on the clipboard with links defanged, so it pastes as text.
- Read a message as rendered, as plain text or, for .eml, as its original source. Earlier messages in a reply chain fold away; the fold starts expanded, so PDF export keeps the whole thread.
- Word export now carries the email as text: subject, From, To, Cc, date, plain-text body and attachment names and sizes, read with the exporting person's permissions. An email that cannot be read says why and points to PDF.
Fixed
- Inline images sent as attachments with a Content-ID now display.
Nothing is looked up online; nothing is stored.
