Key highlights of the appJira's daily digest stops after 7 days overdue. This weekly one covers 8+ days overdue and deadlines 3-7 days ahead
Picks up where Jira's own digest stops
Jira’s due-date digest covers the week leading up to today. Work that drifts past that window stops showing up - and that is the work nobody is looking at. This one starts at 8 days overdue and keeps going.
Whoever raised the work gets it too
The reporter of a work item receives the same weekly digest for it, with the assignee’s name on rows they do not own. Nothing to configure - it follows the reporter field Jira already fills in.
One email a week, and an off switch
Not one message per work item. Each person gets a single digest, at most ten rows per section, with a link to the full list in Jira. A Jira admin can switch it off at any time, and the email says so.
More details
Jira’s own due-date digest stops after 7 days overdue, and does not show a deadline three days out. Overdue Digest covers both gaps.
What each person receives
One email a week - not one message per work item.
Work 8 or more days overdue, and work due in 3 to 7 days.
Up to ten rows per section, each with the key, summary and status, plus a link to the full list in Jira.
The reporter gets it too, with the assignee’s name on rows they do not own, or Unassigned.
A Jira admin can turn it off at any time from Jira’s app settings, and the email says so.
On very large sites a run may not reach every recipient that week. The admin page shows how many are still pending, so a shortfall is visible.
Email goes through Jira’s own notification service; work item data is not copied outside Atlassian.
What the email contains. The email body includes each work item’s key, summary and status. For work items assigned to someone other than the recipient, it also includes the assignee’s display name.
