Thanks for your feedback Ole. The limitations on what can be nested in an excerpt macro is a problem that is solidly in Atlassian's lap.
Atlassian has made several decisions that limit the abilities of 3rd party bodied macros to nest things. If you do some searches for things like the lack of support for nesting table macros in the new page editor in Cloud you will see how widespread this problem is. We have created several articles that we use to explain the details to our users:
Connect Macros Cannot be Nested in Connect Macros
Bodied Macro can't be nested in a MultiExcerpt (Fabric/V2 Page Editor)
Confluence failed to render nested macro
MultiExcerpt Cannot be Nested in Table (Fabric/V2 Page Editor)

Thank you for the feedback Bill! In the past few years Artemis has grown and we are more able to frequently release versions of all of our apps. The pace of releases is now way, way faster than what it was in 2017. We also now have a bigger team taking care of the support queue. I am working with you on a case right now, coincidentally. I saw this old review and thought I'd chime in :)

Sadly, this is a limitation of the new editing experience recently introduced by Atlassian for Confluence Cloud. We have written an article about the details of their decision and its affect on MultiExcerpt here: MultiExcerpt Cannot be Nested in Table (Fabric/V2 Page Editor).
This happens for all rich-text body macros, they cannot be nested in Tables in the new fabric (v2) page editor. We have a list of workarounds in the article. You may want to add a vote to MEPOD-55 "Add a plain-text Multiexcerpt macro to the Multiexcerpt app" if a plain-text MultiExcerpt would serve your needs for nesting in Tables. Plain-text body macros can be nested in Tables in the new page editor.

Hi! We are currently working on a roadmap. This feature will be included on the roadmap.
Additionally, we would like to mention that we publish all feature requests and you can see the age of the feature request, unlike several vendors. Please take that into consideration as a positive.
Thank you!

Hello,
Thanks for the review! We have a feature request on our roadmap that will do what you want. We call it "MultiExcerpt Reporting Macro - summary overview of MultiExcerpts, their owner pages and includes" and we have it on the roadmap for both Server and Cloud versions of our app. Server: CMEP-98
Cloud: MEPOD-57
Feel free to add comments or vote on either or both issues. Thanks!

Hello,
I tested the latest version on a production server to verify that inclusions from different spaces are working.
There is a known bug with the selection of other spaces in the MultiExcerpt Include macro: when using the keyboard (only) to select the space then the page selector is not properly populated (CMEP-190).
There are a few workarounds: 1) use the mouse to select the space, 2) repopulate the space input by typing/selecting the space a second time.
UPDATE: CMEP-190 is released with the latest version of MultiExcerpt.

Thank you for your review!
We like that idea, it would be a great enhancement. We have an open enhancement request for "templates: Add support to MultiExcerpt Include for relative path to excerpt page or for excerpt page title variables": CMEP-109
We have recently grown and have more developers helping to work these issues so feel free to comment on or vote on any of our enhancement requests: we watch them and feedback like yours makes a difference.
Thanks!

Mr. Anderer, thank you for your feedback and we are glad you found many aspects of this add-on to be useful. In order to help our customers resolve the difficulties you experienced as noted above, we created instructional guides. With these instructions we feel that a migration is fairly easy to do now:
Migrating MultiExcerpt from Server to Cloud
Migrating MultiExcerpt from Cloud to Server
Problems with nesting of bodied macros in Cloud is an issue brought on by Atlassian, it is not a limitation caused by the MultiExcerpt macro. Essentially, Atlassian has announced that the new fabric(V2) page editor will not support nesting in Bodied Macros. The short answer to this: Atlassian says they will continue to support the old page editor. The old page editor is not nearly as limiting as the new page editor for nesting macros. Use the old page editor as a workaround.
We have written several articles about issues with nesting macros in Confluence Cloud:
MultiExcerpt Cannot be Nested in Table (Fabric/V2 Page Editor)
Bodied Macro can't be nested in a MultiExcerpt (Fabric/V2 Page Editor)
Confluence failed to render nested macro
Please contact us if you have any additional issues, and thank you for your business.

Pricing FAQ
- How does cloud app pricing work?
Cloud apps are sold as a monthly or annual subscription. You are eligible for support and automatic version updates as long as your subscription is active.
When your subscription renews each month, you are automatically billed for apps based on the number of users in your instance.
If app pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.
- How do I determine my cloud pricing?
Apps are billed based on the number of users in your Atlassian product. Confluence Cloud apps are priced based on the number of Confluence users on your instance. For example, if you have Confluence Cloud (25 users), you pay the 25-user price for apps.
The pricing structure for cloud apps is as follows:
- Monthly subscriptions with up to 10 Atlassian product users are billed at a flat rate price.
- Monthly subscriptions with more than 10 users are billed per user, starting at the first user.
- Monthly subscriptions with more than 100 users are billed per user. The table above provides example pricing at various user levels.
Annual subscriptions may offer a discount depending on the number of users purchased.
- Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses for cloud apps?
Yes. Academic, community, and open source licenses are available to qualifying organizations. See our Purchasing & Licensing FAQ for more information.
- Can I extend my free trial?
For cloud apps, you cannot extend your free evaluation period. All cloud apps are immediately subscribed by a user, and we provide a free evaluation period. This is a minimum of 30 days and ends on the second billing cycle after you first subscribe to the app.
Pricing FAQ
- How does server app pricing work?
Server products and apps are hosted on your servers. This app is sold as a perpetual license, and the purchase price includes 12 months of maintenance (support and version updates).
You can renew maintenance after 12 months at 50% of the current purchase price. You can upgrade the tier of your Atlassian product and app licenses at any time. Upgrade prices are calculated based on Atlassian's formula (view example).
If app pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.
- How do I determine my server pricing?
Apps are billed based on the number of users in your Atlassian product. The app tier should match the licensed user tier of the Atlassian product. For example, if you have a Confluence license for 500 users, you should purchase the 500-user tier for apps. Even if fewer users want to use the app than your Atlassian product license, the two licenses should match exactly.
- Can I install this app in a Data Center product?
Yes, this app has a Data Center approved version. If you're using a Data Center product, you should install the Data Center version of the app.
- What type of license do I need if I'm using this app in a Data Center product?
Because this app has a Data Center approved version, you should purchase a Data Center license for the app.
If you already own a server license for this app, you can continue using the server license in your Data Center product for a limited period of time.
- Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses for server apps?
For server apps, academic licenses are available at a 50% discount if you have an academic license for your Atlassian product.
Community and open-source licenses are available for server apps. Learn more about community and open source licenses.
- Can I extend my free trial?
For server apps, you can extend your app trial up to 5 times - in other words, for up to six months. Extend your trial by generating a new evaluation license key from Atlassian Marketplace. Click Try it free and you'll be directed to generate a new license. Paste this license key into the app listing in UPM from your Atlassian product, and you're all set.
- How can I buy apps for my legacy Jira Server or Confluence Server license?
If you own a legacy Jira Server Unlimited (100+ users) or Confluence Server Unlimited (2000+ users) license purchased in 2012 or earlier, legacy app pricing is no longer available. You have two options for app purchasing:
- Purchase the app at the non-legacy Unlimited (10000+ users) tier.
- Renew your Jira or Confluence license at a non-legacy tier, then purchase the app at the same tier.
