When using the Scroll Exporter apps Numbered Headings will skip numbering altogether. We implemented this functionality in consultation with K15t, the maker of the Scroll Exporter apps. It is always better to use the numbering support in the native document format, like Word or PDF. If you want numbering in your export, use a template that supports numbering. One of the default templates in Scroll titled Documentation has numbering turned on. Turn to the Scroll documentation for more information about numbering in export formats.

You can recognize the Scroll Export by the scroll icon in the menu. If you don’t see an icon next to the Export menu you are using the Confluence default export. In this case numbering will still be rendered.

This release fixes issues when migrating from Confluence versions before 4.0 to more recent versions. It also fixes an issue where it was not possible to use the macro with the 'Insert wiki markup' functionality.

This release fixes an issue which caused the Numbered Headings macro to get stuck in an infinite loop. See issue 51 for more information.

New in this release

It is now possible to set the starting value of each heading level with the 'Start numbering with'. Just separate the numbering with a comma, for example; '3,2,4'.

This release fixes a JavaScript bug (only occurred in Internet Explorer 8) when using the 'skip-headings' parameter in Numbered Headings.

This release changes the behavior of the 'start-numbering-with' parameter when using the space export and drops support for Confluence versions below 4.

Space export & 'start-numbering-with' parameterPreviously when exporting multiple pages that all have the Numbered Headings macro, the numbering would continue from the previous page. With this change the value of the 'start-numbering-with' parameter will be used (if supplied).

Dropped support for Confluence versions below 4.0

Atlassian no longer supports versions below 4. Therefor we have decided to also drop support for Confluence 4 and lower. This means we can reduce the code base and have more time for other bug fixes and features. You can still use previous version of the macro if you need support for lower versions.

This release fixes a bug when using Numbered Headings on anything else than pages (like blogposts and global templates). This bug occurs in version 2.2.0 and 2.3.0 of Numbered Headings.

This version of Numbered Headings adds two new features and some minor bug fixes. See our Bitbucket project for all the issues that have been fixed.

ISO 2145 formatterThis formatter is almost the same as the default 'decimal' formatter, but it complies with the ISO 2145 standard. The only difference with the 'decimal' formatter is the fact that it does not add a dot after the last number.

Skip headings parameterWith the new 'skip-headings' parameter it is possible to completely exclude a heading level from numbering. You can also use this parameter to stop numbering at a certain heading level by adding all the level you want to skip and the levels after this one. So if you want to skip numbering after h4, you have to fill in the following value for this parameter; h5, h6

This parameter excepts headings (e.g. h3) separated by a comma.

• Numbering will now continue between multiple macro's when exporting
• Made numbering CSS rule more specific

This release adds support for the new Confluence mobile version. So you will have the same Numbered Headings experience as in the "normal" Confluence version.
