Write a template and see the result as you type
A template can set a description, a summary pattern, labels, a priority, components and sub-tasks. Use variables such as {{reporter}}, {{date}} and {{key}}. The live preview shows the issue as you type.
Applied however the issue is created
Auto-apply runs just after an issue is created, so it covers the Create dialog, inline create on boards and backlogs, child issues, Automation and REST. Only fields left empty are filled.
Pick, preview and apply from the issue
Anyone who can edit an issue can open Templates on it, pick a template that matches its type and project, and see what will change before applying. No admin rights are needed.

Why Native Issue Templates?
- Works beyond the Create button. Templates apply just after an issue is created, by any route. The text is not shown inside the Create dialog itself.
- Never overwrites. Only empty fields are filled. A summary is only wrapped, for example [Bug] {{summary}}.
- Runs on Atlassian. Built on Forge: no external servers, no data egress, four permissions.
