Checklists for Jira (Templates & Automation)

Checklists for Jira started as our way to align on Definition of Done across multiple teams, but quickly became something we use on almost every task. The app feels natural to use, and the formatting is quite flexible: bold text, links, code blocks, nested items to create a structured checklist, which we didn’t really see in other checklist apps before. Long checklists can also be collapsed to keep issues clean when tasks get more detailed. Support has been great! They implemented a feature we requested shortly after we asked, which we really appreciate.

We started using Jira checklists to automate repeatable processes across Jira projects. The checklist templates helped us save a lot of time and reduce the number of subtasks we had before. At one point, we had trouble with an automation rule that used smart values in checklist items, but the support team quickly pointed out what was wrong and helped us configure it correctly. After that, everything worked exactly as expected. Overall, it’s an easy-to-use and surprisingly powerful checklist app for Jira.
