Key highlights of the appDraw Excalidraw whiteboards with embedded Graphviz DOT diagrams, natively inside Confluence

Whiteboard anywhere in Confluence

Add an Excalidraw scene as a page macro, a space-level page, or a global page for the whole site — full hand-drawn toolset: shapes, arrows, freehand drawing, shape libraries, dark mode, undo/redo.

Native Graphviz DOT rendering

Write Graphviz DOT syntax and render it as a diagram inside your Excalidraw scene — computed locally in your browser, with no external Graphviz service or network call involved.

Reusable diagram templates

Save a scene once and reuse it as a template across multiple spaces and pages, so architecture and workflow diagrams stay consistent without redrawing them each time.

More details

Excalidraw Graphviz Diagrams for Confluence embeds a full Excalidraw whiteboard directly into Confluence — as a page macro, a space-level page, or a global page for your whole site. Sketch with Excalidraw's hand-drawn style — shapes, arrows, freehand drawing, shape libraries, dark mode, zoom, pan, undo/redo — and, in the same scene, write Graphviz DOT syntax to render structured diagrams: dependency graphs, state machines, system architecture.

Graphviz is computed locally in your browser using a WASM-based renderer, so nothing is sent to an external Graphviz service. Save a scene as a template and reuse the same diagram across multiple spaces and pages, so recurring architecture or process diagrams stay consistent instead of being redrawn from scratch.

Diagrams and scenes are stored using Atlassian Forge storage — nothing leaves your Confluence instance, and no separate diagramming account or tool is required.
