It doesn't really create a true 'test case', it just creates a plain Task (or other issue type you select) and links that the current Story. I tested it with a Story that had a simple Description to act as a prompt / feed to OpenAI, then tried the 'Generate' functionality, but no luck. It seems the Story needs to have a long and detailed Description that defines the feature, the requirements and the acceptance scenarios for OpenAI to be able generate anything of merit In those sitruations where the Story lacks such a Description, I don't think it's any more efficient that just creating a Task directly from the Story and hand typing a short Description of what the 'test case' would entail.

Hi David Bakkers,
Thank you for trying out Test Case Assistant for Jira and sharing your feedback!
It seems there might be some confusion about how the app generates and attaches test cases. Let me clarify:
1. To generate test cases, open a user story with a description and summary, then click on “Test Case Assistant” in the side panel.
2. From there, you need to click “Click to generate.” This action automatically uses the summary and description from the user story to create test case descriptions.
3. Once generated, you can review and customize the content if needed. If you're happy with the result, click “Attach Test Case.” This will create the test case as an issue (e.g., Task or another configured issue type) and link it to the user story.
Additionally, you can customize the issue type used for test cases by configuring it in the Test Case Assistant project page settings.
For more detailed instructions, please check the documentation available under the Support section. We appreciate your time and are here to assist with any further questions!

It doesn't create any sort of 'test case', it just creates a plain Task issue type and links it to the current issue. What you type into the app's text box is just put the description of that Task

Hi solid interface,
Thank you for using Test Case Assistant for Jira and for sharing your experience!
To clarify how the app works:
After opening the user story, you need to select “Test Case Assistant” in the right-side panel and then click “Click to generate.” The app uses the story’s description and summary to automatically create a detailed test case.
You can click “Regenerate” as many times as needed to create different scenarios or make suggestions for the generator.
Once satisfied with the test case, clicking “Attach Test Case” will create the issue (e.g., Task or other configured type) and link it to the story.
If you want to use a specific issue type for test cases, you can configure this in the Test Case Assistant project settings.
To further explore the app's features and resolve any gaps, please refer to the documentation under the Support section.
Thank you for giving our app a try, and we’re here to help if needed!
