RACI Matrix for Jira

The RACI Matrix is an essential tool in project management, designed to clarify the roles and responsibilities of individuals within a project. RACI stands for:

• Responsible: Individuals or teams tasked with executing the work. Typically, those who do the work to complete the task.
• Accountable: The person who is ultimately answerable for the activity or decision. This is the role that approves the work that the Responsible person delivers and is the final decision-maker. There must be exactly one person Accountable for each task to ensure clear ownership.
• Consulted: Those whose opinions are sought; typically subject matter experts who provide valuable insights and contribute information that influences the task outcome. This step involves two-way communication.
• Informed: People who are kept up-to-date on progress, often those impacted by the outcomes of the tasks. While they do not contribute directly to the task completion, they require updates. This involves one-way communication.
