Requirements Management & End-to-End traceability in Jira
Define your own Requirement Types and Folders
Define your own requirement types to track your non-software requirements like Hardware, System, and Compliance requirements. You can connect (trace) them to your Jira Epics & Stories and provide end-to-end traceability.
Create Traces (Connections) between requirements
Connect any requirement to any other requirement to make a daisy chain of dependencies. This helps you easily identify Dangling (No child) , Orphan (No parent), and Suspect requirements (Un-accepted change in system).
TraceTree showing a multi level dependency chain
The system is able to build a daisy chain of requirements and their dependencies. See how a Jira story is tied to a Product, System, and Customer requirement and visualize your Dangling, Orphan & Suspect requirements.
More details
Introducing the TraceCloud app for Jira on the Atlassian Marketplace.
Jira is typically used to manage your Software related requirements. However, if you are working on a Medical or Systems engineering project you are likely to have Non-software requirements (Hardware, Mechanical, Compliance, etc..) and you need to have a holistic view of your requirements (Software + Non-Software) .
TraceCloud lets you manage your Customer, Product, Hardware, System, and Non-Functional Requirements in Jira. You can connect these requirements to your Jira Epics, Stories, Tasks, and Bugs. You can provide end-to-end traceability and manage Dangling, Orphan, and Suspect requirements from one place.
TraceCloud was a stand-alone Requirements Management tool since 2009. We heard from a lot of our Systems Engineering customers about the need to have tighter integration between Software Requirements managed in Jira and other requirements managed elsewhere. So we built the TraceCloud app on the Forge platform.
