Background: We've used Released for over a year. I had been looking for something that would spruce up release notes somewhat as we used to do one-liners and copy-paste things manually around. Don't go there - that's definitely NOT it. :) This is also what Released solves for us. we use fixVersion and a few other fields to get the collection of tickets targeted for a specific release. The release note structure looks always identical. You can make it nice with a footer picture and some formatting. Customers can also subscribe to release notes to get them via email. The plugin itself is very unobtrusive, rather well behaved and can be customized six ways to Sunday so it integrates with your website, web app, etc. For those of us who are slightly allergic to reading AI generated text - it is possible to tone down on the use of superlatives and exaggerated language to suit your comfort zone. It is also possible to hint on what you want it to write about. Now, about support. Besides submitting feature requests, which the team takes very seriously, we have not really needed it that much. It just works. I expect we'll eventually start doing roadmap and user feedback through this, too, but for now those are the more unexplored areas of the system. Finally, about pricing. It is fairly inexpensive and well worth the money since it saves time from the whole team.

Finally, a roadmap tool that actually lives where the work happens. --- The Integration Reality: We originally switched to Released for its native Jira integration. My expectation was that keeping a roadmap in sync with reality should be automated, not a manual chore. Released has absolutely met this bar. Using JQL to filter exactly what we need across 10+ different Jira projects works like a charm. It eliminates the "sync errors" and manual double-entry found in other standalone roadmap apps. --- Closing the Feedback Loop: Where Released truly pulls ahead of the competition is user communication. We wanted a real dialogue with our users, not a black hole for feedback. The simple login and personal inbox for users to track their requests is a game changer. Even better, we can attach these dialogues directly to Jira tasks, allowing our PMs to jump from a user story to a customer conversation with a single click. --- Support & Growth: No tool is perfect, but the support here is outstanding. Dealing directly with Jens (the co-founder) ensures we get fast, valuable guidance. While we are still waiting on a few features like swimlanes or custom favicons, they are transparent about their own roadmap and ship quickly. --- Bottom-line: We are very happy with the switch. Our customers finally have a clear idea of what we are developing and, more importantly, a simple way to take an active part in the process.

Thank you for the kind review, Jan!

Good news as well: swimlanes are already available, and we shipped custom favicons for the portal this week.

Historically, writing release notes has been one of the most time consuming and least favorite tasks I handle. I put a lot of effort into manually slogging through the process and it didn't seem like our employees or customers paid attention. Initially I was just trying to find a tool that would use AI to automate the release note draft process. When I discovered Released, it totally changed how I think about customer feedback, roadmaps, and release notes. I love the seamless integration with Jira, ability to authenticate and control access based on email address, page embed and widget codes, roadmaps, tags, changelogs templates, release notes drafted by AI, ability to subscribe to changelogs, product feedback, and simplicity of the app. Our Customer Success, Sales, and end customers love the improved communication of our feature releases. This is a great app that makes our release notes and roadmap an effective marketing tool. The Released team is very supportive, communicative, and friendly. There are a few "nice to have" features that I've shared, which are already on their roadmap. This is one of my favorite product tools. I'm still discovering all of the features and also considering where we can deprecate some of our existing tools in favor of Released.

โ€‹Weโ€™ve evaluated several tools, including Canny, Featurebase, and ProductPlan, and weโ€™ve decided to move forward with Released. The main reasons were its ease of use, the ability to push rich changelogs (including videos), AI-generated release notes, and how seamlessly it reuses existing Jira tickets for the roadmap.

A great app! Publishing release notes has never been quicker or easier. The support team is also excellent.
