Josef ZeiglerIn our Ed Tech organization of 6K+ Confluence users, we wanted to leverage blogs in our Confluence knowledge base as a means to communicate to customer-facing staff changes to policies, products, pricing, and processes that they'd need to honor/properly convey to customers. We thought of Confluence because utilizing our CRM would mean obtaining expensive licenses for users who otherwise don't need them, and using email distribution lists is clunky. The native functionality of blogs in Confluence doesn't have a means of alerting users to blog entries which was a big drawback for us. Better Blogs has been the perfect tool for us: it allows us to enable the deployment of an automated email to all users in a space every time a new entry is posted to the blog in that space in Confluence. The email contains the same text as that in the blog entry and it links back to the blog. It's met our need perfectly.
