      Hi Yok,

Thank you for rating JXL. Working your issues like a spreadsheet, hierarchy and sum-ups included, is the whole idea, so a five-star rating is a good sign it clicks for you.

If you ever feel like comparing notes on your setup, drop by our support portal and we'll take it from there.

Since we first entered the Atlassian world a few years ago, we have been considering how we could integrate certain key processes (e.g. risk assessment) into Jira. It was only with JXL that we found a solution enabling our staff to enter data into Jira quickly and easily. Without this tabular view and input method, this would not have been possible. Thanks also to the highly competent and responsive support team. This makes getting started much easier. Best regards, Stefan

      Hi Stefan,

After years of wondering how to fit processes like risk assessment into Jira, it's great that JXL's tabular view turned out to be the thing that let your staff enter that data quickly and easily. That spreadsheet-style grid with inline editing is what turns getting risk assessments into Jira into a few quick entries rather than a fiddly chore, and it's good to hear it lowered the barrier for your team.

I'll gladly pass your thanks to the support team as well. If you take JXL into new processes later on and run into anything, you can reach us anytime through our support portal.

      Cheers,

JXL answers the improbable question of "what if Jira and Excel had a baby". Well, as it turns out just like crossing an Olympic athlete with a Hollywood actor, it's as good looking as it is functional. In my experience every company has a Pro[ject|duct] manager or three hiding a spreadsheet somewhere in a dark corner of their laptop, and then manually updating Jira as a secondary target. JXL solves this madness, and at the same time provides the mass-edit interface that's so sorely missing, and that you desperately need when your job is not "deal with one ticket" but "deal with all the tickets". I'd advise pairing this with JQL Search Extensions which (I think?) is by the same company, as this allows you to do recursive ticket queries - i.e. take any ticket and find its children, and their children and on on down the tree. One view to rule them all. Atlassian should just buy this and make it the default interface, it's so much better. I'd rate it 10 stars if they'd let me. Indispensable.

      Hi Duncan,

Thank you so much for this fantastic review! Your description of JXL as the perfect hybrid of Excel and Jira is spot on. We know all too well the "dark corner spreadsheet" struggle, and it is great to hear that the app is helping you eliminate that double work by bringing a high-performance, mass-edit interface directly into your Jira environment.

It is also wonderful to see you mention JQL Search Extensions! You are correct that we are part of the same Appfire family. Using those recursive queries alongside JXL’s sheet interface is a brilliant way to gain that "one view to rule them all" over complex hierarchies. We really appreciate you sharing how these tools work together to make managing large volumes of tickets so much more intuitive.

If you ever have more ideas on how we can further improve your workflow, feel free to connect with us at our support portal.

      Cheers,
