The Out of Office feature in Teamployees helps teams avoid assigning work to unavailable users. By integrating absence information from the Teamployees calendar, Jira can proactively warn users when they attempt to assign work to someone who is currently marked as out of office (for example, on vacation or sick leave).
This ensures that work items are not unintentionally assigned to colleagues who are not available, helping teams maintain smoother workflows, reduce delays, and improve overall planning accuracy.
When enabled, the feature checks selected Jira spaces (projects) against users’ availability status in Teamployees. If the selected assignee is marked as absent, Jira displays a warning during work item creation, allowing the user to choose an alternative assignee before proceeding.
