It was the best option to redirect. It is not possible to add a 301 direct in Confluence Cloud like can do with webpages which is what we would prefer to do.

Sven you are correct, Confluence Cloud doesn't allow for a technical 301 redirect. The page needs to load then redirect. The app is a bit of a workaround, but still allows you to redirect any page to another Confluence page or any link of your choice.
