How to get an inline word or character count in Confluence Cloud:

Step 1: Highlight any Confluence text in publish mode

• Supports all languages (Unicode)

Step 2: Open menu and choose

• Click on menu dropdown → Word Count

Step 3: Result

• Get an exact number of words and characters

Note: only works in published mode (this is a technical limitation by Atlassian).

• Ignores special characters like Google Docs and Word
