The functionality to open a Jira issue form is of course cool, but the 'box' shown on the Confluence page leaves something to be desired. First, its size is fixed, but it could be either changeable or at least selectable - for example, I would like this box to be the width of the page. Second, if you choose to display a field in this box that contains longer text, then this text is only partially visible. The height of the box could be flexible and depend on the volume of the content.

Update August 14th, 2026:
Hi Indrek — following up on this after doing real work on both points you raised.
Width: the box no longer has a fixed size. Since v2.10.0 it automatically takes the full width of the page column, the way you asked for.
Height / long text: the box now resizes dynamically to fit its content instead of clipping it, so fields that run long are no longer cut off.
One thing that's intentionally unchanged: the Description field specifically is still shortened in the box view (now 300 characters, a more generous limit than before) — for the same reason I mentioned at the time, it can contain arbitrarily long, fully-formatted content and I don't want it to dominate the page. If you need Description in full regardless of length, the Children/Filter view (/children) still renders it untruncated.
Thanks for the detailed feedback — it directly shaped this fix. Sorry it took a while to circle back.

Hi Indrek, thanks for your review.
Regarding the first problem—totally agree. I was blocked blocked by Atlassian's framework. With features it offered you would have to define the width on a macro-picker level. Imagine a drop-down list with "Smart Issue full width", "Smart Issue inline", "Smart Issue box", "Smart Issue children" and so one—terrible. I was hoping to give an ability to define dimensions on the editor level. But it was not possible (last checked 6 months ago). I will recheck that.
Regarding description trimming—this actually is intentional. Jira issue description editor enables you to write arbitrary length, full-HTML content, with graphics, tables and so one. I was looking for a short snippet that wouldn't destroy your page's content.
You can see how it works if you try children-macro (`/children` or in the editor). This macro is full width and allows you to see the entire description, regardless its length. See this example:

This app is a real time saver, you can present JIRA issues in confluence and choose what data you wish to display plus you can use a box form that allows you to show a lot more fields. It is also possible to click on it and get a screen that allows you to see more, change the summary field, add comments and even move this issue through the workflow without having to go to JIRA. It even remembers your preferences for field order and display type. The developer is very responsive.

Thank you Arthur, both for the review and initial feedback that allowed me to significantly improve the plugin.
