    The app is easy to configure and provides a comprehensive workflow configuration tool. However, for our purposes, creating neat documentation would require an additional metadata app or inelegant workarounds, as the in-app macros are not sufficiently customizable. Additionally, the UI can be somewhat slow, and several publishing steps must be performed manually, which other workflow/publishing apps handle automatically.

      Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We genuinely value your insights, as it helps to shape what we build next. Our workflow macros address many use cases without additional apps and I've attached some information on this here: adding workflow macros. However, we very much understand that every team has different expectations around presentation and metadata, and will continue to look into developing the available options to make them more customisable in future.

      Regarding performance and manual publishing steps, these are areas we agree can be improved. As mentioned in our call, our team is hard at work on significant UI enhancements, with updates planned for early 2026 that will make the workflow builder more streamlined and intuitive to use. We sincerely hope these upcoming improvements will make the app a better fit for your needs.

    Appfox Workflows for Confluence is an essential tool for our clinical research company, particularly in managing SOP approvals and validation documentation. Its intuitive features streamline these critical processes, ensuring efficiency and compliance. The Approval History feature is invaluable for maintaining transparency and accountability in document reviews. The ability to publish released versions across different spaces allows us to work effectively within drafts. Moreover, the excellent customer support enhances our experience, providing timely assistance whenever needed.

    Update: Upgrading my review based on outstanding customer support I received from Matthew J. @ Appfox he took the time to reach out with thoughtful emails, empathy, and a genuine desire to rectify the situation. I'll leave my previous comments to stand, but the care I received from the team was above & beyond what I expected. ______________________________________________________________________________ Original: I never agreed to pay monthly for this app, it was previously free up to 10 users, which is what I agreed to when installing, now it's $10/month for 1-10 users. Other apps have implemented big payment changes like this by doing an app update that warns that the update switches to a paid plan. Appfox opted to instead quietly start billing users without consent, sketchy business practices, beware. I wrote a similar review for Optimizer for Jira which was published and now doesn't appear when you look at the reviews in the marketplace, so it is interesting to see that Atlassian allows marketplace vendors to remove unfavorable reviews which greatly skews the value of reviews. Disappointing all around.

      We’re saddened to hear about your experience with our communications at the time of our recent pricing update, but sincerely appreciate your feedback.

      Prior to the pricing updates across our apps in October, we had not made any amendments to our pricing for some years, and so will very much take the recommendations you sent through to us into consideration moving forward.

      While we understand that you did receive our email regarding the pricing change for this app, we accept that we could have improved our communications via native in-app notifications. It was never our intention to amend billing without notifying our users, and we undertook measures to do just this - however, we acknowledge that we could stand to better our processes and apologise if you were billed unexpectedly. 

      As for your review on our Optimizer for Jira page, from what we can see, that still does exist with a response from us posted under it, but please do let us know if you are now unable to see it, and we will make sure to investigate it directly with Atlassian. Can we confirm that you’re looking at ‘View: for Cloud’?

    We are using Confluence to write our customer facing product documentation. A workflow app for Confluence was crucial for our writers to maintain an overview on all the changes that have been applied to Confluence pages, and their status. We are not using Workflows in all depth (e.g. we are not using the approval features) but it helps us a lot in our daily work. Also, I'd like to mention the good support. The AppFox team is always friendly and helpful, and answered swiftly to all of our questions.
