I tried to send you an email, but I got undeliverable error message. So here it is. Hello, I stumble upon your app, which looks very promising. I need to delete Statuses on our instance. I can list all our Statuses with IA, bet there is no delete button. Looks like it’s just missing or I am just blind. Also it would be helpful to add “Can delete?” column as well. Also if I select also statuses, which I shouldn’t be able to delete( because they are active) , will IA delete them? Or it will delete only ones that can be deleted? Thanks for your answer. So cool app. I wish I found it before I had to delete 50+ workflows manually :D

      Martin,

Thank you for trying IA-J and for the valuable feedback. The good news is that you are not blind (LOL). The bad news is Atlassian's API doesn't provide a mechanism for deleting statuses---I have voiced my opinion for adding this as I think it is a much needed feature. Per the API, what you see in my app is the following:

"Returns a list of all statuses associated with active workflows."

I constantly monitor the API for new functionality and add it as quickly as possible, so hopefully Atlassian will add the ability to delete statuses. Please note that anywhere you "do not" see a trash can in the toolbar is because the API doesn't have a delete option for it.

Finally, thank you for letting me know about the email issue. We recently moved and that address did not get re-activated. I took care of that as well.

UPDATE #1: Just received an email that Atlassian has released (5) new end-points around??? You guessed it--Statuses including deletion. I'll be reviewing the new additions over the next few days and if it is what you need, the IA-J will be updated to include the functionality you've requested. Stay tuned! :)

UPDATE #2: Martin, I have just released an update to IA-J that adds exactly what you wanted in the app! You can now bulk delete unused statuses. The table now displays both active/inactive statuses and I added the "Can Delete?" column that quickly displays if the status can be removed or not. As a bonus, I have (2) additional columns that show the number of projects using the status as well as the project names. Due to the potential for "many" project names, I have defaulted this information at the child level ("+" sign), but you can always show the column so you can see the list of projects without opening the child rows on multiple rows. Showing this column is also good for exporting the data. Enjoy!

If only I could delete inactive workflows and screens with this tool. Also, when viewing the schemes, it needs to show you the which ones don't have any attached attributes so you know which ones to delete

      Mason,

First thank you for trying out Instance Auditor (Jira) and second thank you for your valuable feedback. You can definitely remove all inactive workflows and screens with the tool, but Atlassian's API is lacking in several areas to allow me to display whether Jira deems something active/inactive.

In the case of workflows, I have added a new column that will display if the workflow belongs to a scheme. This will help identify if the workflow is active/inactive and if it can be removed. This new column will be in the next release--along with some other enhancements. Unfortunately, this capability is not offered for all of the items so I am exploring ways to add this feature to other areas.

I'm constantly reviewing the API for updates to make my app better, so stay tuned and please continue to provide your valuable feedback.

UPDATE: Mason, just released a new version that adds column drag/drop as well as a new feature I think you'll like--new Can Delete? column that shows you beforehand what Jira should allow to be deleted and what it won't. Also, added columns that show the connection between content and schemes. Please feel free to continue providing your feedback as my goal is to make the best tools for us admins---enjoy!
