There are now two ways to mange labels: system wide or project specific. For more information, please refer to our documentation.

    Using this add-on, you can:

We don't use add-ons, but I wanted one to manage labels and came across this one. When we first tried it, we ran into 2 errors: (1) it seems to timeout when editing large #s of tasks with the same label, and (2) it didn't seem to rename labels properly in the global view (but did seem to work at the project level). I exchanged a few emails with the developer, did a VC, and what do you know, they fixed it. It now works great, and I'm super happy with it.

Thank you Paul for your kind words and helping us to reproduce the issue you were facing. Our add-ons might not be perfect yet, but we are always looking to improve. Feedback and bug reports from users like you greatly helps small companies like us.

I had labels "back-end" and "backend", and tried to merge them all to "back-end". Tried to rename the "backend" label as "back-end" but got an error. Also, deleting the "backend" label did not work. I'd imagine this is due to those issues having the "backend" label were closed and could not be edited - and I certainly did not want to reopen them just to clean up the labels. Another issue was that the listing was showing for example "Testing" and "testing", but these could not be merged into one.

    Hi Jari,

Thank you for providing information related to issues you are facing.

    1. Delete or rename is not related to status of issue. May I ask what kind of error you got?

    2. If you have two labels "Testing" and "testing", you can rename one of them and as a result, they will be merged.

For first issue, could you please contact us using our Jira Service Desk or via email at support@bitwelt.atlassian.net so that we can assist you with the issue?

Documentation mentions and shows ability to manage all labels at once (which is what we wanted), but you have apparently changed the functionality to only allow viewing by one project at a time. Wish you had maintained the other functionality as well. You should update your description and documentation to reflect new limitations.

    Hi Shelly,

Update: Managing labels globally is now supported. Please refer to our documentation

We are sorry for confusion. We initially released global label management but quickly realized that most of our users need project wide label management. So we made the changes.

However, we are working on new version which will add option to manage labels globally. Could you please share your email with us so that we can inform you once it is released? You can contact us using our Jira Service Desk or via email at support@bitwelt.atlassian.net

The idea is good, but we would have preferred if the app only showed the label in the current project, as opposed to every label from every project!

    Hi Andrew,

Thank you for your feedback. We recently updated the add-on and it now shows only project specific labels. Could you please try it and let us know?

I love that this exists. However, labels are global and this tool seeks to solve them on a per project basis which effectively makes it unusable for us. This lets people on any project see all the labels for all projects and what tickets they are used on. That's a problem if we don't want customer X seeing customer Y's data. It's also really hard to manage this way since right off the cuff we have 21 pages of labels. I look forward to reinstalling this after it's had some more work because it's seeks to solve an important problem.

    Pricing FAQ

How does cloud app pricing work?

Cloud apps are sold as a monthly or annual subscription. You are eligible for support and automatic version updates as long as your subscription is active.

When your subscription renews each month, you are automatically billed for apps based on the number of users in your instance.

If app pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

How do I determine my cloud pricing?

Apps are billed based on the number of users in your Atlassian product. Jira Cloud apps are priced based on the maximum users of the Jira products on your instance. For example, if you have Jira Software (50 users) and Jira Service Desk (10 agents) on the same instance, you pay the 50-user price for apps.Note: While this app has features specific to Jira Service Desk, the app is technically available across the whole Jira instance. Therefore the above guidelines for licensing across maximum users still apply.

The pricing structure for cloud apps is as follows:

    • Monthly subscriptions with up to 10 Atlassian product users are billed at a flat rate price.
    • Monthly subscriptions with more than 10 users are billed per user, starting at the first user.
    • Monthly subscriptions with more than 100 users are billed per user. The table above provides example pricing at various user levels.

Annual subscriptions may offer a discount depending on the number of users purchased.

Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses for cloud apps?

Yes. Academic, community, and open source licenses are available to qualifying organizations. See our Purchasing & Licensing FAQ for more information.

Can I extend my free trial?

For cloud apps, you cannot extend your free evaluation period. All cloud apps are immediately subscribed by a user, and we provide a free evaluation period. This is a minimum of 30 days and ends on the second billing cycle after you first subscribe to the app.
