Installation

  1. You must install Exalate on all connecting platforms. Exalate for Jira is available via the Atlassian marketplace, whereas Exalate for ServiceNow should be installed via the integrations page. Watch the detailed video of the installation process for ServiceNow here. Step 1: Visit the Exalate integrations page and choose ‘ServiceNow’ from the list.
  2. Fill out the form with the required information and click "Submit".
  3. Our team will review your request. In a short while, you’ll receive an email that specifically contains two parts: your Exalate for ServiceNow node URL and the evaluation key. Keep this aside. You’ll need it in Step 9.
  4. Set up Exalate in your ServiceNow instance using an update set. This will install the ServiceNow Bridge app on your instance. For production instances, you can find the app on the ServiceNow store. For development instances, you need to use an update set. Download the update set from here.
  5. In your ServiceNow instance, go to ‘System Update Sets’ > ‘Retrieved Update Sets’. Click ‘Import Update Set from XML’ under the ‘Related Links’. Choose the file from your computer and click ‘Upload’.
  6. Open the Exalate update set and click ‘Preview Update Set’.
  7. And the final step is to ‘Commit Update Set’.
  8. You just deployed the Exalate Bridge app from the ServiceNow store or from the update set, but the configuration for ServiceNow is not yet complete. You need to configure the user roles via the URL of the Exalate for ServiceNow application.
  9. Now, proceed to configure Exalate for ServiceNow by creating a Proxy user responsible for accessing the information stored in your instance and applying any incoming changes. This user is then used to log in to your Exalate console.
  10. After logging in you’ll be taken to the Exalate console. Here, you can create a new connection. If you still haven’t installed Exalate on Jira, it’s time to do that ;)
