The app from StiltSoft, the creator of Awesome Graphs for Bitbucket, that provides the statistics for projects and repositories and helps to analyze and evaluate development team performance, code review practices and personal activity of each team member.

If you use Git submodules workflow, you may probably face the problem when changes to the submodule in the Diff tab are shown as two commit hashes, not the code that's actually changed. It is difficult to find modified files and almost impossible to review pull requests, leave comments and suggest improvements to them.

Submodule Changes for Bitbucket app helps:

    • Show the changes committed to a submodule in the Diff tab as if they're committed to the parental repository. Instead of two commit hashes, you'll see highlighted added, deleted or modified lines of code.
    • Comment on the entire pull request, a particular file, or on specific lines of code in a file that were changed in a Git submodule.

This plugin is an excellent proof of concept for a potential solution to reviewing enterprise multi-repo projects in Bitbucket but unfortunately only displays changes for submodules one level down. Submodules in git are recursive and I wish this plugin had support for that! I also believe many would be willing to pay for this plugin if it supported this feature.

This is a very helpful plugin that makes the reviewers' life easier. Works smoothly, so you don't really notice that it's submodule changes that are shown are in there. And this brings me to a feature request: could you make this plugin clearly mark folder as submodules in the review, so there is a way to see that this is not part of the current repo's pull request? For example, give the short commit ID of the submodule change after the folder name.

This plugin is a must-have when working with submodule. I would expect this as a basic functionality on Bitbucket but luckily this plugin exists.

Hi, when you rely on many submodules, pull-request review can be very time-consuming. This addon saves you a lot of time and with it a lot of money. The support is also fast and helpful. Thank you very much!

    Pricing FAQ

How does server app pricing work?

Server products and apps are hosted on your servers. This app is sold as a perpetual license, and the purchase price includes 12 months of maintenance (support and version updates).

You can renew maintenance after 12 months at 50% of the current purchase price. You can upgrade the tier of your Atlassian product and app licenses at any time. Upgrade prices are calculated based on Atlassian's formula (view example).

If app pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

How do I determine my server pricing?

Apps are billed based on the number of users in your Atlassian product. The app tier should match the licensed user tier of the Atlassian product. For example, if you have a Confluence license for 500 users, you should purchase the 500-user tier for apps. Even if fewer users want to use the app than your Atlassian product license, the two licenses should match exactly.

Can I install this app in a Data Center product?

Yes, this app has a Data Center approved version. If you're using a Data Center product, you should install the Data Center version of the app.

What type of license do I need if I'm using this app in a Data Center product?

Because this app has a Data Center approved version, you should purchase a Data Center license for the app.

If you already own a server license for this app, you can continue using the server license in your Data Center product for a limited period of time.

Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses for server apps?

For server apps, academic licenses are available at a 50% discount if you have an academic license for your Atlassian product.

Community and open-source licenses are available for server apps. Learn more about community and open source licenses.

Can I extend my free trial?

For server apps, you can extend your app trial up to 5 times - in other words, for up to six months. Extend your trial by generating a new evaluation license key from Atlassian Marketplace. Click Try it free and you'll be directed to generate a new license. Paste this license key into the app listing in UPM from your Atlassian product, and you're all set.

How can I buy apps for my legacy Jira Server or Confluence Server license?

If you own a legacy Jira Server Unlimited (100+ users) or Confluence Server Unlimited (2000+ users) license purchased in 2012 or earlier, legacy app pricing is no longer available. You have two options for app purchasing:

    • Purchase the app at the non-legacy Unlimited (10000+ users) tier.
    • Renew your Jira or Confluence license at a non-legacy tier, then purchase the app at the same tier.

    Versions

    Version 2.0.0 Bitbucket Server 6.0.0 - 7.13.0 Released 2021-06-03

    Summary

Support of recursive Git submodules. The app becomes paid now.

    Details

🎉 Support of recursive Git submodules

We've supported recursive Git submodules which makes it possible to watch the diff for pull requests and commits where multiple levels of submodule repositories were changed. Before that, the app only supported viewing the repositories one level down.

The new feature is a solution for reviewing enterprise multi-repo projects where you had to switch between hundreds of pull requests for minor changes and it's hard to get a grasp of what's actually being changed.

👀 Important note about the licensing

From version 2.0, Submodule Changes for Bitbucket will become a paid app. Once you update, your 30-day trial period will start.

    ✅ Compatibility with Bitbucket

The app becomes compatible with Bitbucket Server and Data Center versions 6.0 and above.
