Hello, I plan to use External Data for Jira Fields (Jira Service Desk Cloud version) to implement interdependent dynamic fields, that also depend on the groups the user belongs to, in the Customer Portal while the Customer fills out the form for request/issue creation. So far my tests are working fine, although I have yet to test this in production. I could not find any other way to do this but by using the External Data for Jira Fields App. The App works very well so far and the support is impressive, they have even added some features I needed to make the per-user group filtering of the fields to work. Very good App and support. Thanks a lot!

We use External Data to pull in data from our own platform to enrich Service Desk tickets. The product is superb - it does exactly what it purports to do in a very clean and intuitive way. I have never experienced such great vendor support either. In my experience, requests for help are responded to within minutes, with follow-ups to check that everything is good. Possibly most impressive is that I mentioned a feature I would love to see and less than a month later, was emailed asking to try out the new release that included my requested functionality. If you're reading this, you are probably looking for a way to integrate external data with Jira - Give it a try - you won't be disappointed.

We have evaluated this product in search for a solution to get asset management data into Jira, and with great help from the vendor we have been able to find a super way of doing it. Lovely to have such a flexible tool, and a vendor that can help, and even extend functionality on demand. We will subscribe to this software!

We use this to pull in customer data live from our SaaS product. Without leaving JIRA we can see live details from customer environments. It works great and when needed support has been very helpful.

    Pricing FAQ

How does cloud app pricing work?

Cloud apps are sold as a monthly or annual subscription. You are eligible for support and automatic version updates as long as your subscription is active.

When your subscription renews each month, you are automatically billed for apps based on the number of users in your instance.

If app pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

How do I determine my cloud pricing?

Apps are billed based on the number of users in your Atlassian product. Jira Cloud apps are priced based on the maximum users of the Jira products on your instance. For example, if you have Jira Software (50 users) and Jira Service Desk (10 agents) on the same instance, you pay the 50-user price for apps.Note: While this app has features specific to Jira Service Desk, the app is technically available across the whole Jira instance. Therefore the above guidelines for licensing across maximum users still apply.

The pricing structure for cloud apps is as follows:

    • Monthly subscriptions with up to 10 Atlassian product users are billed at a flat rate price.
    • Monthly subscriptions with more than 10 users are billed per user, starting at the first user.
    • Monthly subscriptions with more than 100 users are billed per user. The table above provides example pricing at various user levels.

Annual subscriptions may offer a discount depending on the number of users purchased.

Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses for cloud apps?

Academic, community and open source licenses are not available for cloud apps.

Can I extend my free trial?

For cloud apps, you cannot extend your free evaluation period. All cloud apps are immediately subscribed by a user, and we provide a free evaluation period. This is a minimum of 30 days and ends on the second billing cycle after you first subscribe to the app.
