Key highlights of the appMermaid and Pele diagrams that look native to Confluence. Light and dark mode, click to enlarge, zoom, pan, Word and PDF export
Native in light and dark mode
Diagrams follow the reader's light or dark mode, with legibility support in dark mode: a Mermaid diagram can go back on a light background in one click, and Pele's colour picker offers Confluence colours that adapt.
Read it large: click, zoom, pan, export
Click a diagram to open it in a dialog, or zoom and pan it in place; the page stays where it was. Diagrams render in the editor as soon as you save the macro, and appear in Word and PDF exports.
Your diagrams never leave Atlassian
Anyone can write a diagram, so every one is checked before it is shown: links only to web pages or email, images only embedded, nothing loaded from outside Atlassian. Every release passes a hostile-input test suite.

More details
Every Mermaid 12 diagram type, drawn by Mermaid 12 (the default), Mermaid 11 or Pele, pinned per diagram so published pages never change after an update. Theme, look and layout per diagram.
Diagrams follow the reader's light or dark mode; one on a fixed theme keeps its white card. Pele, from the makers of Obsidian, draws in Confluence's own colours and takes a Diagram colour or your own Pele CSS brand theme. In dark mode a Show on light background button puts a Mermaid diagram back on a white card.
Click a diagram to open it large; zoom and pan; Escape returns to the page where it was. They render in the editor as soon as the macro is saved and appear in Word and PDF exports.
Forge, badged Runs on Atlassian, one read-only permission. Every diagram is checked before it is shown: links only to web pages or email, images only embedded, nothing loaded from outside Atlassian, and every release passes a hostile-input test suite. Diagrams show for anonymous viewers too.

- Details
New
- Mermaid diagrams follow Confluence's dark mode. A diagram whose theme has a dark version switches to it; diagrams on Neutral, Forest or custom colours stay on a white card. Word export stays light.
- In dark mode, a "Show on light background" button beside Maximise puts a diagram back on a white card, remembered in your browser. Diagrams that may not read clearly in dark mode carry a warning mark on the button.
- Click a diagram on a published page to open it large. A link in a diagram still opens the link.
- Maximise opens the diagram in a Confluence dialog instead of full screen. Close or Escape returns to the page, which stays where it was.
- Mermaid 11 engine updated to 11.17.2, which adds swimlane, cynefin and railroad diagrams to Mermaid 11. An existing Mermaid 11 diagram's Word image is redrawn with this version the next time the diagram is saved.
Fixed
