Version Sync for Jira (Cross-Project Version & Release Sync)

We wanted a way to allow a team to manage versions across several projects but without making them jira-wide admins, or even project admins in all of those projects. This tool allowed us to setup a process to achieve that goal, so that alone would have been good enough. But on top of that, the team was very responsive to our feedback and when we asked for a small quality-of-life feature they were able to get it working for us with an impressive turnaround time. So we're pretty happy so far with both the product and the support team response!

I was hoping it would be able to sync release notes and jira issues across multiple jira boards, but unfortunately it is unable to do this. It might be a restriction from Atlassian, but did hope this application could do that. However, it does create the versions across the projects you specify.

Our app, Version Sync for Jira, primarily focuses on synchronizing versions and releases across projects, which it successfully accomplishes as you've noted. 

  You could try the option to add your release notes to the description of the version. The description will be synced accordingly.

  For syncing Jira issues across multiple boards, there are several other applications available on the Atlassian Marketplace that might better suit your needs.

A very useful addon. We have many projects with common code base and the releases usually touch many of the projects. Standard Jira doesn't support such a setup. Fortunately, there's a version sync plugin, which helps to synchronize the versions. Recently added features - editing names, creating new shared versions, or marking versions as released are awesome!
